I really enjoyed the trip down at J.W.'s. I was especially interested in the photos of the installation of the hatband. Hopefully it's enough illustation for me to replace a crossgrain ribbon on a Resistol I just picked up...or if there are instructions for doing to job elsewhere maybe someone...
That would be one of the advantages of shaving my head. When I put my hat on it's there to stay. It seems that the leather band forms a seal with the smooth skin. Any of you guys who might shave your head know what I mean. My hats really hold their ground even in a mighty wind.
I have a LL Bean "bucket hat" I take out and look at every now and then. I just never got the nerve to wear it:) I wear a fedora everyday now and don't bat an eye anywhere I go with one on. I especially like to pull the brim down over the bridge of my nose when taking my after lunch snoozer...
A little of both. I'm very tall(6'7") and slender with narrow face. I'm quickly learning that shorter crown and narrower brim is better on me. As far as fitting, size 7 1/4 is coming in all over the place. I'm learning:) I probably will soon be buying one hat style from the same vendor. Then I...
I'm trying to support the new hat makers. It's just so difficult doing all this through the mail since I'm still in the searching process looking for all the right specifics for me. I have sent back half of what I've ordered. I should have send back half of what I kept. I need a local hat shop...
I still like the weight and feel of Polo chinos. At 6'7" and 220 lbs. I really like the cut. They seem to have a good balance of proportion all the way around. I hang mine out on the line to dry so they'll feel nice and crisp when I first put them on.
It was "slim pickings" at BCF on the hats. The lady said the grays and browns in my size flew off the shelves pretty quick. I did get a look and feel at them and was impressed at the $20 to $40 price range. I really liked the bound edge style. I'll check another store not too far away later this...
What I still love about Converse is that the old fit still runs true. That is they run long and narrow. My true shoe size is 14-A. 13 in Converse fits perfect. Go look for a !4-A in anything:mad: Don't even get me started. Anyway, the price of Converse isn't too bad either.
