    A few questions

Hm, maybe you would be better off with an Aero instead if you don't care for armor or the waist belt. [huh] The size 56 Vanson Comet in cowhide (non-armored) is $590 (not including shipping). The armored versions only go to size 54 so that won't work for you anyway. A made-to-measure...

    A few questions

I'm a Vanson owner. Would you reconsider the Mercury for another jacket? The Mercury really isn't cut out for motorcycling. The collar flaps are not secured with snaps, so they'll flap in the wind. There is no waist belt or zipper attachment at the waist so you cannot secure the jacket...

Feet Up! The Work Boot Thread

Thanks for the write-up. I just bought a pair of Iron Rangers from Papashoe.com myself and they're going to be delivered later this week. I sized down 0.5 size based on advice I've read here and on other forums.

Aero cordovan & brown FQHH sufficiently different?

Will do. Still waiting. :( Coming up on week 24 now. Hope it's here by Christmas!

Lost Worlds Downtown not too bad at all

Thanks to this thread I went out and bought a bag of Andy Capp's Hot Fries. Haven't eaten those things since I was a high schooler and they sold them in the school cafeteria. lol

    Vanson Leathers: Enfield pattern

I have three Vansons. Unfortunately all are competition weight leather (and armor capable) so I don't have any direct experience with Firenze leather. Vanson's work is first rate so I would not hesitate to buy based on quality. If you have concerns about fit, drop by your local Vanson...

How much warmer is Aero's alpaca lining compared to the satin lining?

Glad to see Vanson is back making horsehide jackets. I heard they stopped making HH jackets for some reason. I have three Vansons (all cowhide) but I don't ride motorcycles any more so I have limited reasons to get another one. :(

    Most popular Aero Leather Jacket?

I'll vote for the Highwayman in brown as well. It was my first Aero. True. Vanson will do custom leather for you, but that involves an upcharge. Seems us Yanquis prefer black leather, no matter how hot it gets outside. Vanson offered some moto jackets in "battleship gray" (by custom...

Place to try on Aero Leather Jackets in NYC?

If I recall correctly most (if not all) Aeros are made to the owner's requests so I do not think there are any "stock" fits to be had in a retail location in the US. Best to cruise the various Aero threads here and ring Amanda/Mark to see what they can do for you.

    Women wearing an Aeroleather?

I'm an Aero fan but it is hard finding sample photos for their women's collection. Have you considered Vanson's women's collection? They have plenty of photos for you to peruse.

Aero Jackets in really cold weather

Wore my Highwayman today in 32 degree weather. We had snow yesterday. No problems at all. My jacket has the wool alpaca lining and I wore a thin wool sweater underneath.

    Engineer Boots, Harness Boots...

Agreed, and the biggest problem for us motorcyclists (who aren't into sportbikes) is finding "real" motorcycling boots when it comes to the harness/engineering boot style. Most are just flimsy fashion boots, without any real protection. You don't want a flimsy fashion boot on your foot if...

    What's on your wishlist?

Don't worry, our Senate is working on our own flavor of socialism as we speak (in the form of alleged healthcare reform)! lol The only thing I ask of Aero is honesty in delivery estimates. The first order was estimated at 8-12 weeks -- I got it in 25 weeks. The second order was...

    What's on your wishlist?

My June ordered Aero to show up before Xmas. [huh] Week 20 and counting. Last Aero was received after 25 weeks.

as niCe as an AERO or LEWiS at 3% the co$T???

I'm not sure I see any method at all. [huh] Wait, were we talking about leather jackets or johnnyjohnny's use of capital and lowercase letters?!? :D

New Veste de Rallye arrived today (Nov 5 2009)

Lear, nice jacket! Glad things turned out well for you. I especially like the OD lining! If your jacket just came in, I hope this means my Veste de Rallye is right around the corner as I believe you and I ordered at about the same time (late June 2009). :) PS nice RMW (?) boots. I was...

Aero Jackets - you get what you pay for...

Read this thread on FatWallet.com which has all the info you'd want (and more) on how to do the Bing! cashback discount. They keep track of the discounts in the thread. Currently it seems to vary from 8-10% but it was 30% last Thanksgiving!

Aero Jackets - you get what you pay for...

I'm with DJS Press. Although some people here theorize that it takes longer for a jacket when you order through Mark, I'm not sure that has been proven. I'd add that you may also save more money if you participate in the MSN or Bing! cash back program through eBay. You cannot do that if you...

Thinking about buying an Aero or other Horsehide MC Jacket - advice needed

Another Highwayman owner chiming in. I agree with PC, just ask them to make it a non-boxy fit and they will accommodate. I asked for a non-boxy fit and got one that fits perfectly around my waist and chest. It's not overly restrictive but it is miles better than my "mall leather" jackets...

A new Highwayman and the freezing rain debacle of '09

Very nice! My Highwayman has the breast pocket but I think it looks great with or without the pocket. PS Phillies over Yankees in WS in 6. ;)
