I searched "tuxedo shirt loop" and found this: I know the shirt you're describing is not a tuxedo shirt but as the one that is shown the loop holds a marcella waistcoat and tie, so maybe the loop holds the tie, or the style is just carried over. The link is a really great white tie reference...
Both are really great! The golf collar is my favorite and is definitely not 60s but 20s-30s! The second one is the same, with a pointier collar that's 30s-40s! I'd get both if I could. The first one is even better because of the contrasting white-blue; very vintage!
If you don't like any sixties style, then I don't think you'd like Mad Men. Mind you it does focus on the more conservative side (not beatniks and hippies, but Madison Avenue Admen) in the early sixties. I think you can get tab collared shirts with longer points; a bit more classic and not the...
No! The 60s preppy look is great! If you don't like the title, think Mad Men's younger set. A little less conservative, skinny button-downs and tab-collars. Bass loafers and all. But of course tab collars were around before too!
Up until the late fifties lapels were that wide but the shape got boxier. They had db suits then too. A lot of db suits have two non-working buttons at top...there's no rule.
Thanks for the help! Some others I'm considering: black and white (does it have a medium hold?) and Murray's Super Light (does it have good shine?) I'm looking for a new medium-hold, high shine pomade good for everyday use that'll control curly, frizzy hair.
Can anyone please explain the hold for Brylcreem? I know it has high shine but it never is mentioned what the hold intensity is. I assume it's a medium hold like RC, but I'm not sure.
Use Royal Crown-it keeps the hair in place very well with non-crazy hair like yours, and it adds great shine. It's soft yet has hold close to Murray's and it's really all you need unless your hair is curly. Also add less pomade to the are of your wave; that's what I usually do.
A thick pomade turns my curly hair into poofy straight hair; I think a light pomade with hold that doesn't turn the hair straight (RC, for example) is what would work.
