Although there are some things I would do differently, my wife and I (she was also a homeschooler! :D ) definitely plan to home-school our kids!
Maybe we should start a home-school thread on here... ;)
Go homeschoolers! :D (Home-schooled: Pre-K - 12th)
BPT, what NW city are you near to? I have a lot of family up that way... maybe someday we can organize a 4th of July "G-man cocktail" or something!
Welcome to the Fedora Lounge everyone! I hope someday we can do as big a meet as...
What I plan on is something more along the lines of the "study" you describe, but not quite the same... a type of lounge-space I can relax, (no TV) Some books, but nothing business related. I don't want to spend my day at work then go home and work.
This is a place I can be by myself for an...
See. I like dark woods, have an ever expanding weapons collection, I love jazz/blues/bluegrass, and sometimes like to just go take a "power nap" after I get home from work...
My wife is very understanding of these things, but that doesn't mean she agrees... :p
She wants our house...
Well, though my wife has so far come from "you may NOT have a gun in our house!" to "well, you can have a "home defense" shotgun, but that's ALL you need!" she still insists that "you don't need a gun! it's a waste of money!" despite my telling her that not only are they tools, but in many cases...
I'm sure they do, I'm just really new to any rifle with a caliber larger than .30-30... but I hope to someday be the owner of a "true" safari gun, so I want to learn as much as I can before I'm in the market... ;)
Ok, I thought I must have missed something because you said "configured like the tropicals, moderately heavy barrel, Alex Henry forearm and iron sights" I thought it was a special "tropical" configuration, like the SMLE "Sporter" is a variant of a regular MilSpec Lee-Enfield... so it would look...
That would be the only kind of golf I think I'd actually enjoy... other than "Summer-Putput" where I teach my bikini-clad wife how to golf! ;) lol
I'm leaning towards the SIG, mainly because 1911s will always be there, but a well taken care of secondhand p229 is rather difficult to find...
:bump:
REALLY liking V.C. Brunswick's idea, just imagine scaled down for 1-3 persons instead of 10-30... ;)
Keep the photos rolling! I still have two years to get my ideas sorted before the house will be started... ;)
the term most often used is "IP Address blocker"... ;) it makes it look like you're in whatever country you select... I have to use it to sign into some of my US accounts so they don't freak out and think they're being hacked.... (I live in a tiny developing country in the Balkans, so it always...
Well, I was mostly just saying that if one wanted a "Governor" type firearm, they could be fixed to look less "fugly"
When I get back to Florida I get to choose between
Rock Island Armory 1911
and a SIG-Sauer P229 SAS that my sister-in-law might sell...
Both are good firearms (and the...
Here's some S&W "Governors" I mocked up on my computer... maybe they wouldn't be so bad with custom grips... (WAY better than the rubber stock grips, anyhow)
Yes, but even in 1916 Annie Oakley was far more widely known... maybe they meant pistol shooter? Even then... marketing stretch :p

And SMOKING to lose weight... :eeek:
LOL, I guess that's one way to keep everyone happy... don't worry, I didn't take it personal. (I hope I didn't come across too strong? I'm not always best at expressing myself in English, having lived overseas two thirds of my life...) :p I just meant that though I normally leave snakes alone (I...
