I'm resurrecting this thread to report.
I got the Borsalino Bellini, instead of the hooker, and I love it.
The hooker would have been nice in a moment of madness but... A good hat will last longer than I can these days.
53 years Young today.
It's been a wonderful day. :D
I guess I'm a 5. I just turned 53 today and I just opened a box from my best buddy containing one of these>>> http://www.bencrafthats.com/product.php?pid=172&subcname=Borsalino
I love it.
Looks nice. I would have preferred the wider brim but...
What did it start out as (width wise) and what did you trim it to?
And how much more height did you get?
That is a great question.
I guess we are reaching that Extension of Ourselves.
I don't think my hat's define me but...
I can see where some people may think that.
The Jaxon's are TOUGH Hats.
I have one that I tried to shrink for a buddy. Bad experimnet. It's my stingy brim now. Not one of my favorites but I respect how tough it is.
You can drive over those things w/ the 18 wheeler, back up and do it again...and it will pop back.
TOUGH Hats
Those of us seldom seem without a hat ???
Prolly all do. :D
And to expand a bit...
I kinda feel naked without a hat anymore. And I've only been wearing them for about a year and a half.
Panamabob:
You are one hell of a standup man. Your explanation says it all so well... Most of us have known that for some time.
We should leave this thread rest.
I strategically stack them on the back of a hidabed, against the wall.
Trust me. There is a way to do it right. Just don't put flimsy straws on the bottom. :D
It can help shape crowns for taper. I don't care who wants to believe or not.
Works for me. :D
From my own personal experience... Some folks just don't know how to take care of hats.
Those I've recieved from Panamabob are excellent hats, including the cheapest.
