    Gusset Jeans?

Most Wranglers were, last time I checked, still made in the USA.

    Is it wrong?

Speaking specifically of Goodwill, it is their mission to make as much money as possible by selling donated items. They use that money to fund various charitable endeavors related to education and job-training. If sending the clothes to japan or wherever makes more money for their programs...

    Duane 'Dog' Chapman arrested...

No, I don't jest. Treaty obligations are laws like any other. The second part of your comment is a non sequitur: in this case they have enforced the laws by arresting Dog, so what was your point?

    Duane 'Dog' Chapman arrested...

Maybe I should have marked out the sarcasm/irony in my comment. But for the literal minded: I WAS JOKING!!!!! I do find him obnoxious and unpleasant, but I think that he should remain as free to be that way as I am free to point that out.

    Duane 'Dog' Chapman arrested...

By the way, the issue here isn't, as many people have suggested, one of Mexican law; this is an issue of American law. Treaties entered into by the president according to the rules of Article II, Section 2 of the Constitution are as much a part of American law as any law passed by the normal...

    Duane 'Dog' Chapman arrested...

I have to say it, I hate "dog" completely. I am not pro-crime or pro-fugitive, but I simply can't stand his bearing, style, attitude, manner, or macho swagger. He is a thug and a goon. He is coarse and unpleasant and overexposed. This world might just be a better place if he and everyone...

Your Philosopher of Choice is ...

Samsa, I just don't think that it is possible to meaningfully distinguish between philosophers or philosophy and theologians or theology by looking at the content of a work. Your definition illustrates this point rather well, as it makes Socrates into a theologian. Remember that he claimed...

Your Philosopher of Choice is ...

The distinction between philosopher and theologian is a very academic and very recent one. I would suggest you read I and II Corinthians and then tell me that Paul wasn't a philosopher. Half the people mentioned so far have been primarily theologians, but I see no problem with calling...

Your Philosopher of Choice is ...

I am surprised not only at how many people have chosen religious figures, but also that none of them has mentioned St. Paul or Ecclesiastes. Ecclesiastes goes right after The Apology on my list. So, where are all the lovers of St. Paul?

I used to really like Seneca, but I can understand why many people don't. He is really quotable and fun to read, but kind of condescending and certainly a hypocrite. Tacitus' account of his suicide is very moving. But, I never knew what to make of it when juxtaposed with the mock suicide of...

That must have been incredible. I need to get out there. I worked in Italy for a while, but I never made it to Greece. I need to get something in the works on that.

Your Philosopher of Choice is ...

I'll try to scare off the silence for a minute. It has been a few years, but as far as post-classical Latin goes, Tertullian is pretty readable, he is at least as readable as Augustine. The inflammatory things he says help to keep the interest too. All the early Christian writers are fun to...

Looking for a lightweight chambry shirt

Mudinyereye, what exactly makes them so much better than the Buzz Rickson/Sugar Cane/Warehouse Co. or other Japanese repros to justify the prices. I thought it was just the premium paid in Japan for stuff made in the USA.

The rule of law... When mexican nationals come to america and violate our laws, I want them to be arrested, deported or otherwise dealt with. If they return to mexico I would like mexico to send them here to face justice when the law so requires. Doesn't this cut both ways? When dog breaks...

Looking for a lightweight chambry shirt

almost forgot the most galling part. I think that the Post Overalls stuff is either partly or wholely manufactured in the United STates. I spent a while a few months back trying to figure out where, but found nothing.

Looking for a lightweight chambry shirt

Post Overalls are far more expensive than any of the other Japanese repros. They seem really nice and might be worth the cost, but I don't see how they could possibly be better than the buzz rickson shirt and they cost about twice as much. I have the BR one as well as a few vintage ones...

    Navy cotton flight jacket

what price glory definitely has them, but i can't say anything about the quality of them and the pictures on their website are pretty sparse and out of focus. The japanese makers come out with them occasionally, but I know that Buzz Rickson didn't make one this year.
