I use the Rapide Leathercream for my boots and leather jackets...
The color is black. I've been playing with the sample piece a lot rubbing it, twisting and wringing it and crumpling it up and I must say it's holding up just fine. In fact it's looking very nice and has become very supple and soft. I also gave it a coating of Rapide Leather Cream and worked it...
Hi COW...err...oops that sounds bad ;) I wanted to abbreviate your name and I only noticed that it spells COW after I typed it. Anyways..
Yes I spoke to Will on the phone yesterday and asked him what the story is as far as that 3ounce and 1.4mm goes. His answer was that it is 1.4mm and is...
A few members have mentioned jackets from the Alexander Outlet store. Have a look at them here... http://www.alexanderleathers.com/sale.html ...brand new jackets from Alexander Leathers in Scotland that were either trainee made jackets, discontinued leather, cancelled orders or trade-in...
Quote"So here's a belated news-flash for all those experts out there who, over the years, have pronounced loud and long on the side of horsehide: Hate to say this, guys, but the Emperor definitely isn't wearing any clothes! Horsehide is, and always will be, a poor substitute for cowhide!"Unquote...
That's that for sure. But one thing I am still not clear about now is the thickness of the Chromexell Steer that Alexander uses. On Alexanders website they advertise the Chromexel steer as 3ounce at 1.4mm but that's impossible because 3 ounce is 1.2mm and 1.4mm is 3.5 ounce. I guess I'll contact...
I wrote to Horween after I came across and read the following interview that Phil Kalas from Horween gave regarding Chromexel.

Lovely looking jacket but just like the others have commented first thing I notice is that the sleeves are a bit to short. With your arms hanging down at your sides the sleeve should come to about half an inch above the first knuckle of your thumb.
Yeah I agree, and about the shoulders...look much too big and they seem to bunch up in a weird way on top of your shoulders. But the sleeves on the other hand look just 100% perfect as i said already. They are by the looks of it about half an inch above the first thumb knuckle with your arms in...
My final contribution to the thread I started.
Just received an answer from Nick Horween himself in response to my query.
Fred,
Thank you for your message.
We offer our Chromexcel in both natural back (as you have seen) and mill-dyed, or struck through. The only difference between the two...

Ssack this might be a silly suggestion, I don't know, but why not try some black shoe polish on the affected areas and see if that alleviates the problem somewhat. Try just a small section first.
