I suppose that's right. There's been a surge of people wearing punk/new age, retro, etc., particularly among youth. The market demand for items from that era reflect this. I'd say, it's contributed by pop culture through music, movies, and shows that appeal to the adolescent audience. We can...
Bahh, I was just using that specific diction to develop my characteristic of a needy westerner. Like it has been iterated a few times, auction site prices merely lead to what consumers are willing to pay, and that market influence connects to a central idea of capitalism. However, it's odd to...
You know, my Japanese 1 teacher told me how he was making a lot of dough by flipping vintage Levis to Japanese collectors (the teacher was a native Japanese man). It dumbfounded me that those jeans would carry so much value there. Well, out of interest of Japan, I've already planned a trip there...
Perhaps I'm underestimating the value of these, but I frequently check listings for 1940's fedoras, and a lot of them are VERY expensive, reaching upwards of almost $380. Does anyone know why this is so with these hats specifically?
Yeah, if the remaining ink doesn't fade away by the time I get around to passing it down. You can barely see the 6 in the date now. There's also noticeable faded ink all over the paper, but it's interesting to see nonetheless.
Wonderful, I just have to pray for a stagnate auction for an entire week. I've seen this seller auction off some cool suits, all of which I've only observed, not participated in. I think I might wanna go for this one.
Thanks! I was baffled at what I thought was a good deal. Some hats on eBay are like triple price and don't include their original box, and if they do, it's in beat condition.
I'd like to hope they're sentimental and keep everything!
Bahhh, that's always unfortunate. Also, not that I am a "hat scalper", but you must admit it is cool to have something that is, not only usable, but has the prospect of increasing in value.
Does anyone know what the spot where Intolerance was filmed looks like now? I can't find any results. Of course, I doubt that there are remnants of the Babylonian structures, as the set was deconstructed around 100 years ago.
I'd say, Some Like It Hot. This is one of my favorite movies of all time, and besides the gruesome murders shown, there's also the jokes that would offend, err, certain people.

This is my first vintage hat, and hopefully I made a good choice. Impeccable condition, original box, it even includes...
Well, Engels is one of the godfathers of facial hair.
Though not of the same magnitude, Trotsky didn't look too bad himself:
I remember always confusing him with Colonel Sanders.
Lovely antique watch, wouldn't mind snagging one like this at some point. It doesn't look that archaic either, and that's what I love about these watches, they're timeless.
