I figured Dinerman's ebay store had risen from obscurity anyway ;)
Doubt I'll bid because i gotta start saving, but it's an awesome hat. Happy bidding to those who take the plunge!

Can everyone make a pact to NOT bid on this one? 21 watchers, my lord...
What i can gather is that this was rather done involuntarily, perhaps with intent to be less cavalier with money. Watching old movies, i sometimes notice more dated pieces than the setting of the movie being sported.
What did the WW1 generation think of fashion emerging after WW2 (brighter...
I can't even find the safety pin style ones for sale. It is unfortunate that the demise of a suit and/or tie as everyday wear was also the demise of accessible accessories.
Also, some people think my ties are cheaply made because they're minimally/unlined ones from the 30s-50s (Rayon isn't a...
Amazing tie, Michael. Seems like it was MADE to be worn with that green-striped shirt as well. Love the message on the lining, unfortunately my Smilock gamebird tie doesn't feature anything like that. This one here is a gem, take care of it!

Revised pics (don't have an advanced setup) and great price drop for a limited time!
I'd love to see a picture of what you mean here. If you mean a roomy waist, i see that in a lot of 50s jackets. Not a great look.
I agree with horizontally straight shoulders looking odd. The first example in the OP alleviates this slightly with the shoulder "incline". It also makes for a...
People have recommended that I try out those swing dancing classes (40's more than 20's/30's). However, in my opinion these just reek of the swing fad of the late 90's, and I was never interested. 20's/30's dancing may be a bit more open to authentic wear and less zoot suit crap that I was never...
The late 40's are often associated with the wide football player shoulder suits, some say they were ill-fitting, baggy and zoot-ish. However, I know there is a strong following for the tailoring and garments of this period. I was wondering how you loungers felt about this trend. I have discussed...
Probably a collar pin because they can make shirts with a slight spread look much more elegant. Also, I'm just salty that I can never find tab collar shirts at stores.
Ashley Weston, on an article where she discusses dress shirts, denounced tab collars and spearpoints, and specifically stated...
Maybe it's just the young naivety in me, but I have always wanted to don formal wear agaon, specifically a 1920s/30s ensemble. I once wore my grandfather's 1950s Saks 5th Ave shawl lapel tuxedo, and that was it. Sadly Grandpa George didn't leave behind any tail coat!
White tie has always...
Here's a 1930s Stylecraft hand woven tie, courtesy of Dinerman. This is my first woolen tie, and my first 30s piece!
Also thought I'd show more love to my late 1940s hand painted Towncraft nylon tie. Even the pictures don't do it justice!
This one seems a bit hard to date, due to the staid design. The RESILIENT CONSTRUCTION tag always makes me assume 1930's - early 50's though. Good pickup!
