1980's Resistol 4X Beaver Western conversion
Here's my latest conversion.....
I bought this hat about 3-4 months ago. I thought it was a gray color based on the auction photos but it turned out being blue. The crown was very tall at 6 1/4 inches but had a rounder profile.

Thanks, Gentlemen!!!
Rusty, I have tried the brim snapped in front. It looks ok, but it kinda takes away from the early 1900's look of the hat. Makes it look more like a Strat. I may snap it down though. Not sure yet.
I had the honor and privilege to meet Joe in person a couple years ago. He was very kind and a gentlemen all the way. He will really be missed. Rest in peace, Joe.
Thanks so much Bill, Aaron, Tom, and Manfred!!! I am really proud of this conversion. There is just something special about this early 1900's felt. It is SO black. Modern felts just can't achieve the level of "blackness." The shellac that was used in this hat body is really fantastic. Its just...

Stop by my house anytime! Holiday dinner will be waiting. :)
I had no idea Thanksgiving and Hanukkah have crossed paths before. I read a yahoo article just recently that said it had not, but then again, can't believe everything on the internet. LOL.
Thanks so much! I used a Knox sweatband out of a 7 3/8 donor Knox panama. I had to cut the sweatband down. It wasn't in the best shape, but I wanted to use original parts on this one verses a new replacement sweatband. It gives the hat a more "used" look. Its very comfortable.
First year ever those two have been on the same day. I think I might try a new Thanksgiving tradition......Turkey with Latke stuffing. Sounds good to me. ;)
