Still one of my favorite early Stetsons of all time. The color combos on that one are just fantastic and proof that not every early hat was black or gray with a black ribbon. I never noticed the blue edge binding matched with a double row of stitching. Its just awesome! Can you take a picture...
AH HA! So you were the one who got that Paragon! ;)
It is even more fantastic than the original auction photos. I LOVE those early up brims! That triple row stitching matched with the up brim curl is just perfect! :eusa_clap:eusa_clap
These are FANTASTIC! Thanks for posting these.
Lefty had a beautiful Chamois at one time and I actually own a Chamois Derby. There really is NO mention of the Stetson name anywhere.
But.....Stetson did use two labels which can be found in almost every pre-40's Stetson hat.....
WOW!! Thanks SO much everyone for the wonderful comments about my newly converted hat!!! I absolutely love this hat. I have pretty much only taken it off to shower and sleep. Its sooooooo comfortable to wear.

Thank you very much!
Believe it or not, I bought the sweatband from Panama Bobs ebay store. He sells them from time to time and by FAR they are the BEST modern sweats I have seen.
Thanks! I bought the sweat already stitched to the reed but I did everything else myself. I stitched the sweatband in by hand, I always do unfortunately because I do not have a vintage singer 107-1. If I ever find the proper singer to sew sweatband leather to reeds such as a 107w9 or 37-3, I...
Thanks so much, Gentlemen!!
T Jones, from my experience, sandpaper is sandpaper. Obviously, there are different kinds for different uses, but I have found that a general sandpaper is just fine for pouncing. The 3M Pro stuff has always worked great for me and I have gotten a ton uses out of it...
Thanks John! I used 100 grit, then 220, then 400, then 600. When I pounce, I always go in counter clockwise direction and ALWAYS check to see if I am going too hard or soft. With darker colors, light and dark spots are very easy to get, so I sand until the felt feels and looks good and to my...
Today I'm wearing my new Conversion, I have nicknamed it "The Snowfall"
There's a ton more pics at the Conversion Corral.... Conversion-Corral Page 194
The final conversion of this hat body.......a Winchester hat body
Well, this one has been an unfinished project for a while. With all the horrible weather in Chicago the last 5-6 days or so, I pretty much just stayed in my house and didn't leave. With all that time on my hands, I decided to...
This is a neat Portis. It will need a new sweatband at some point because its kinda dry and has popped some stitches due to it being un-reeded. But its secure in the hat and can be worn right now.
