    Pre 1940s dress hats

    1930's Paragon The "Comfort" Mello-Ease I just received this one. Unfortunately its a 6 7/8, but it will make a great display piece. Its most definitely a homburg with a short brim and shorter crown. The unreeded sweatband is mostly still attached to the hat.

    The Stratoliner Society {VINTAGE}

    I think "LOW/TAPERED" is somewhat of a subjective term. I love 6 inch crowns, so to me, a 5 1/2 inch crown is low. However, when a 5 1/2 inch crown is paired with a thin 3/8 ribbon such as Strats are, it makes the crown appear taller because the eye sees a break from felt color to ribbon color...

    Post New Hats Here!

    I REALLY like the look of that Powell, Jeff. I am not surprised at the quality of the felt however. I never had a beaver brand hat (beaver brand label, or private label) that wasn't either stiff as a board, or had improper shellac impregnation in the felt. On the other hand, I am not a fan of...

    I could use this

    Thanks, Ole. I was VERY relieved once the redness and blisters had gone away and I still had my ear. :whoo: It was 9 degrees in Georgia this morning?? Wow, I would have thought it would have been much warmer than that. It was only about 2 degrees in Chicago this morning. I do have a pair of...

    I could use this

    VERY true, its gotten very dangerous lately to leave ears uncovered for too long. A few years ago I wasn't careful and on a day with windchills in excess of -40 degess below zero, I got frostbite on my left ear. It was pretty bad, but thank goodness I made a full recovery. Unfortunately my left...
