I received a 42-15142-p from Aero last week (made from seal horse with berry knits), unfortunately it is a little too short for me so it has gone back to them while they make me up a replacement. I can confirm that the fit of them is better suited to someone with a bit of a spare tyre round the...
Shouldn't be too long now, I placed an order in August and received it yesterday (I am in the UK and went direct to Aero). I changed my mind on which jacket I wanted, not sure if this meant that my order was delayed a little longer than the norm.
I spoke to Amanda this morning, they are shipping my A-2 today, so it should be with me tomorrow. This should coincide nicely with the weather starting to get a bit milder here in South London.
I've been in there a couple of times, always found the staff very helpful, though if I recall correctly they only stock new items, no vintage. They have a Union Special chain stitch sewing machine in store so are able to alter the leg length of any jeans that you might buy from them.
Uwez, do you know if that is from Aero's new version of oil pull or the old batch? I have an A-2 in seal jerky on order with Aero but having seen your pics (along with those from DJgo-cat-go, whose jacket was made from the old batch) I am getting very tempted to send Amanda yet another email...
Congratulations, that's a good looking jacket, I initially placed an order for something quite similar (50's HBD, brown FQHH, detachable mouton collar, button cuffs, button throat latch, the Chisholm Hunting modern was also on my shortlist of linings) before I changed my mind and went for an...
I placed my initial order in August, at the time Amanda told me 14-16 weeks, this morning she told me that once I had made up my mind and let them know what I wanted that it would be about four weeks. Hopefully will be here before Christmas.
Well, I just finalised my order, I went for:
* Aero Anniversary 45-15142 (with no patches, name tag or insignia)
* Seal Jerky Horse (ideally with a nice grainy hide please)
* Berry knits
* Olive drab thread
* Outer pockets from 40-3785 (i.e rounded corners and scalloped...
Thanks Windward, the texture of the seal jerky in your jacket looks good. I liked the look of the brown FQHH you had up for sale but it was the wrong size for me.
JanSolo, cheers for the advice, especially regarding the zip. I am medium height, originally had a slim build but several years of...
I have an Aero A-2 on order, long story but let's just say I am one of Aero's more indecisive customers. I already own a Highwayman in cordovan FQHH, which I love, I placed an order for a fifties halfbelt delux in brown FQHH, then changed my mind as I thought it would be too similar to my...
Thanks for the advice Butte and Edward.
My natural frame is fairly slim, but my love of food, wine and beer have added what I would describe as a moderate mid section. I find that a 42 inch chest suit jacket fits as long as it isn't too slim cut. My Highwayman is a size 42 and fits me fairly...
Nothing much to add to this topic other than to say that I live in Beckenham, if either of you see someone locally wearing a Highwayman in cordovan say hello.
I have a fifties halfbelt deluxe on order but am considering changing my order to one of Aero's A-2s, I think the jacket I have on...
Five Baracuta G9 harrington jackets (two cotton, two wool, one corduroy)
One Levi harrington jacket
Two Levi denim
One Aero (Highwayman) plus one on order (fifties halfbelt)
several other one offs from various manufacturers
Any idea when you expect to receive your HBD? I ordered mine in mid September and Amanda told me then that the lead time was about 14-16 weeks, so I am keeping my fingers crossed that it may be here before Christmas.
Have you been to Durham before? It is a beautiful city, I used to work with...
