Just spent some time in Palm Springs looking at Mid Century Modern homes.

I have a blanket that my grandmother made in the 1920s or 30 that is actually made out of little tobacco sacks. They are about 7 inches in length by about 3 inches wide. There must be about a hundred of then sewn together to make up one side of this blanket.

Here is how I would do it.
Get some good pics of the one you want to copy.
Recreate the image to the proper size.
Print it out on card stock.
Cut it into a stencil.
Whiff a little spraymount on the backside.(Let it dry a little before laying it on the coat.)
