Last Stand at Saber River Hat
Can anyone post some screengrabs of Tom Selleck's white hat in LSSR? I'm considering a number of hats right now, and I'd sure love some pics of his hat. Front and back shots if you can get 'em.
Thanks in advance!
I'm a professional copywriter working in advertising. Both my parents are published authors, so I come by my affliction honestly.
I write stories set in the Depression/Prohibition era.
Last Stand at Saber River Hat
Okay, I did a search and I'm not finding pics of the hats in River Runs Through It. I know I must have entered something wrong, so can someone post a link to any threads concerning the hats?
Thanks in advance
BTW, this is the hat I'm talking about:
I found it on the Internet, so it's the only good one I have. If anyone can get me some screengrabs of different angles I'd really appreciate it as I'm having a new hat made.
I was watching The Patriot again recently, and I was curious what the purpose of the straps were that Mel Gibson's character wore above his boots just above his knee?
Anyone know?
Viola!

It was pretty cool. An avid horseman I wish it hadn't been "nose to tail," but I was with some inexperienced riders so I took one for the team. You'll still get to see things the average tourist won't see.
Apple has a new, second preview for the movie on its website. I'm hoping that with all the positive press it will open in more theaters. Currently it's supposed to open only in NY and LA near the end of the month.
Can anyone get me screengrabs of Alfred's hat in the opening scenes of Legends of the Fall? He's the oldest brother played by Aidan Quinn, and it's the dark brown hat with bound edge he wears on horseback when the family goes to pick up Isabella.
Thanks in advance!
Off topic but still relevant, I took a horseback tour of Gettysburg about two years ago and I highly recommend it. Even though the tour is horses strung out in a line "nose to tail," you'll get a look of the battlefield that most regular tourists don't get. For example, you'll go past a barn...
I used to work at a local university, and seeing young girls (I refuse to call them women or ladies) attending class in PJ's and slippers was just appalling. For some reason it was only the girls, never the guys wearing pajamas which one might expect.
Bought the dvd and watched the movie again for the second time last night.
I liked it better than when I caught it in the theater, mainly because there were no annoying people texting and talking throughout. Not a great film, but a solid period piece that I'm happy to add to my Victorian...
Other than a panama and possibly some vintage Hawaiian shirts, it's pretty tough.
I tried for the year I lived there, but mostly I stayed inside under the air conditioner and sulked. That and drank way too much bourbon...
Does anyone have a source for modern pocket watches? I like the kind with the closing lid to protect the face (I believe their called hunter's pocket watches?).
I've been looking on the Bay at vintage pieces, but I'd like to see what's out there for modern watches under warranty, etc.
Thanks all, for the great links. Odd how most of these didn't come out in a Google search. Gotta love the Lounge, always the best resource for this kind of stuff.
