I also posted this on AAAC

That brim is a little bit too dimensional for my taste.

    Precisely, Sir. :D

Appropriate times to wear a fedora

This is from the Jeeves & Wooster TV series starring Hugh Laurie. I think the series is set in the late 1920s.

Head geometry and its relationship to gravity and haberdasheries

No matter what I do, my hats always end up slightly tilted to the right on my noggin. When I try to set them level, I have to fiddle around in front of the mirror, and then it feels uncomfortable. Must be the shape of my head.

    Mamma mia

I know exactly what you man! In fact, I never knew a girl who liked Woody Allen films. If someday I find one who loves "Manhattan" like I do, I'll marry her at once :D

    Federation Deluxe IV Size

Congrats on your new hat! Now that was pretty fast. When I ordered mine, it took almost four weeks until it arrived. Did you have to pay customs for it?

Green Acres is the place to be

Oh, and by the way, here's another gent who seems to be very fond of his tyrolean hat :D http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sxZ0YwlHNow

Green Acres is the place to be

Hats like these are actually worn over here, but mostly by older folks or as part of a trachten outfit.

Green Acres is the place to be

Looks like a tyrolean hat to me. If my eyes don't deceive me, it has that stringy thing around the crown instead of a "real" ribbon.

The Dumbest Comment I Ever Heard

Yesterday evening, I went into town in chinos, a short-sleeved shirt and my panama hat. I passed by a couple of teenagers who started humming a melody I didn't recognise and mumbled something about "the undertaker"... I had absolutely no idea what they meant and choose to ignore them ;)...

Tips for best "all weather" hat

Hey Gusman, I was in the same situation a few months ago and I opted for the Fed IV. At first I was a little concerned about the tall crown, I thought that maybe I'd feel somewhat self-conscious with it. But once I had it bashed and on my noggin, it was like someone had nailed a big grin...

    Post New Hats Here!

No felt today! A friend invited me to a canoeing trip in mid august, so I needed a hat that I wouldn't mind losing or ruining. I decided to buy this Stetson Takani - it's very light and perfectly ventilated. And moreover, it's much better looking than the usual boonie or bucket hat :D

Selecting The Right Hat - 1950 Style

Very nice indeed! By the way, Kojak's hat was a "Stetson Tyrol", at least that's what he called it once.

The Dumbest Comment I Ever Heard

I hardly receive any comments from strangers here. But a few weeks ago I wore my panama to town, and when I passed a group of elderly women, one of them looked at me as if I had soiled my pants [huh] She then whispered (good ears ;) ) something like "...and he looks like twenty-five..." to the...

Brims - How do you like them

I remember Harvey Keitel in "From Dusk Till Dawn" wearing something like an open road with the brim up all around. Looked quite good on him.
