Taupe Fawn Campdraft. Trimmed the brim to 2 5/8" awhile back.
It's my go to utility hat but still nice enough for daily wear. I don't baby it. At all. Through about two years of work, play, and traveling with two small kids I'd say it's holding up pretty well. No liner, fits like a glove.
I bought a Sydney in Regency Fawn from David Morgan last year and it looks very similar to the pics earlier in this thread. I doubt the hat is much different but don't really know for sure. Definitely has taper so the stovepipe look is a no-go. Nice hat, though - I wear it frequently.
Just received a Carbon Grey Fed IV about a week ago. Like it very much so far! The jury is still out on the dimensional brim, but we'll see how it goes.
I've been going back and forth about ordering a Teamster or Long Half Belt. I'm very interested to see your Teamster when you get it. Please post pics! The only images I've been able to find are on Aero's website.
Be wary. I wouldn't go out in a downpour with it right away. Maybe ease it in with a few drizzly days to see how it responds.
I have had two modern Stetsons (new Strat, Chatham) get warped to the point of needing a reblock in just a little bit of rain. Feel the crown for any overly soft...
I'm a photographer by trade so I need to flip the brims up on my hats pretty frequently when working in order to look through the viewfinders of my cameras. All day long - up, down, up, down. Sometimes I forget and leave the brim up for extended periods of time. It can be a nice, open and...
I'm glad this question has been asked!
I have a Barbour Eskdale Vest - black cotton quilted, polyamide insulation I think. Not a bulky vest at all. This is it, but in red : http://www.sierratradingpost.com/barbour-eskdale-vest-microfiber-insulated-for-men~p~54711/
It's eight or nine years...
I'm selling a practically brand new Bluegrass Green Campdraft. Size 61cm. For those unfamiliar with CD's, they usually are slightly oversized when new. With a little wear and exposure to the elements the sweatband will shrink and conform to your noggin quite nicely. This hat is about half...
I have a couple of "Jeff" caps found at a local Irish shop. I'm not Irish, but they still let me in.
Wool, tweed. Warm, but they breathe well. Made by Hanna Hats. Full cut, they suit my 7 5/8" dome well - lots of the Kangol, Goorin, etc. brand hats fit my head like yalmukahs.
They had...
Good idea to order one at a time. If for no other reason than this - I ordered two Campdraft's at the same time and they were shipped in the same box. A taupe fawn was placed inside a glen grey. The GG was perfect, the TF had indents in the sides of the crown that in it's entirety was not...
I have both the khaki green (which is more like a whiskey-ish brown) and the silverbelly. Better quality than the typical Stetson fashion hats - meaning they can take some rain and not become rumpled and formless like a wet newspaper (the new Stratoliner, BTW, at least mine, cannot handle...
Thanks vinny!
I found out just like you did - seeing one of Art's milan creations posted earlier in this thread. He provided the body. I told him I was looking for a thin ribbon milan reminiscent of his Barnstormer. I asked for a warm or cool gray color ribbon - he went with warm. I like...
