    Favorite liquid eyeliner

I use and swear by the gel liner that you can find on ebay. I got mine from a seller who offered free shipping so that was great since it came from China. I think the seller is celia-makeup. It may be similar to the one sold on Coastal Scents but I can't confirm that. But it's a great, potent...

    Strapless dress/bra emergency

What about strategic placement of fashion tape? Also, I like the stick on "chicken cutlet" bras. No bulges on the sides. I'm a B cup so it may not work for everyone though.

    Cute Vintage-y Shoes

Hi everyone. I just wanted to let you know that 6pm.com has the Clarks Vanilla Cream sandals on sale for $63.00. They only have them in blue and black and the sizes are limited but it is worth a looksee. I just got a pair and the shipping is pretty reasonable.

Best repro/retro patterns for vintage styles

Miss 1929, I noticed this and it's maddening. Simplicity should see how much these patterns can be sold for on the secondary market. I've been trying to find the sarong pattern but with little luck. What is you opinion of the '30s evening gown pattern she created? I recall seeing you in the gown...

How did they keep their hair-do's from week to week?

Texas girl, thanks for that link! The "Refreshing "mist" looks like it would be a very handy product, like Febreze for the hair! I hate how smoke and food smells just cling to the hair and I sometimes have to sacrifice a good set because my hair reeks of smoke or food. I'll have to check my...

    Cute Vintage-y Shoes

Kity, it's like you've read my mind. I keep thinking about and have been meaning to buy those rainbow sandals but I wonder how much wear I'll get out of them...hmmmm...

What is your favorite red lipstick brand/shade?

I just picked up Kat Von D's Underage Red from Sephora the other day. Finally, a blue red that doesn't look terrible on me!

What about us naturally curly girls?

I second the men's pomade. I use Hawleywood's Layrite Pomade and it really helps me with flyaways and frizz and it smells really good to boot! Another suggestion for days when your hair refuses to behave: SNOODS. They are a godsend when my hair just won't cooperate(or I'm lazy ;-)) and they...

    Show us what you've made!

Ah very clever BoPeep! I'm so used to center front seams in vintage patterns that I just did it without thinking. It's a nice clean look without it though. And I would've saved a ton of thread if I omitted it because I overlocked alll the raw edges inside. Oh well, next time! I plan to make...

    Cold Cream- Brands and advice!

Kamikat, I get where you're coming from. You are taking a certain amount of chance. "Caveat emptor" for sure. That's why leaving accurate feedback for these types of sellers is invaluable. I always read through as much feedback as possible for perishables such as these. She does offer samples so...

Thanks Shrin, I can't wait to wear it. I love that blouse Zendy! The bow is a nice touch.

Sorry, for the terrible camera phone pic! I finally got around to making this after having materials for about a year. It's Butterick 4093 that I modified to give more of a 1920s styling.

    Cold Cream- Brands and advice!

I'm with you Lenore. I don't see myself buying Ponds ever again because it's so darn greasy. I think it's the greasiest of all. I ordered the Cataphract cold cream in lemon and there is no grease after I tissue it off. Huge difference!

Bo Peep, love them overalls! I was considering trying the EvaDress pattern that's close to this one but now I'm torn between that one and this one. *SIGH*

Fuzzy Lizzie, I love Lanz too! Though I am more partial to the mainstream sundresses rather than the traditional drindl styles. I have several of the sundresses and I'm always looking for more! :eusa_clap

    Vintage Pattern WANTED list

Grrl Friday, I have not tried the scissor happy pattern but I heard it's based off a vintage Butterick or McCalls sarong pattern. I'm debating picking it up myself. here's a review of the sarong pattern that eva dress sells: http://sewretro.blogspot.com/2010/03/my-new-favorite-dress.html
