What Hat Are You Wearing Today 1?

Aha! So, one doesn't get a Stetson pin in the hat bow of a Stetsonian if it's purchased from the outlet? No wonder they sell them so cheaply. Hardly seems like a worthwhile purchase now. I'll have to reconsider.

    i think 1938 dobbs fedora

From the style, I would say that it's overwhelmingly likely that it's not. If it's a larger size, then it's almost positively not a "woman's" hat. Furthermore, it was made for Jack Henry Clothiers of Country Club Plaza in Kansas City, which was a store that exclusively specialized in selling...

    i think 1938 dobbs fedora

Quite popular on women's hats over the years, and even today. Unusual on men's hats, but is seen occasionally on "vintage" hats.

Sounds like a prescription for an enema. ;)

Ebay Hats: Victories, Defeats, Gripes & Items of Interest

"1900s" might well be interpreted as encompassing the years 1900 through 1999, although it might mislead some people to think that it meant the years from 1900 to 1909. Perhaps the seller might have better left the description vaguely at that.

Ebay Hats: Victories, Defeats, Gripes & Items of Interest

(S)he further claims, more specifically, that the hat dates from the 1920s, the apparent basis for this claim being that someone sometime stuck a (very new looking) pin in it that says, "Time To Give 1926 Community Chest", as can be seen in his first, third, and fourth photographs of the hat.

    The Maltese Falcon

That sounds like precisely the photograph that I was referring to. I mistakenly guessed that it was probably from the film "G Men", but I recently watched that film again and found that it contained no such scene. I haven't seen "The Public Enemy" in years, so I can't currently confirm that...

    Most quotable movie

I get the impression that the vast majority of people that consider themselves to be film fans and experts nowadays really have only a vague knowledge of films released in the previous century that is largely confined to the dozen or so same few "classic" films that are endlessly re-shown on...

I have a new Borsalino hat in 58 cm (American size 58) that I recently purchased and have never worn outside of my house. I don't know if it's something that you would be interested in, as it's probably darker and wider than what you mentioned...

    WISH LIST

Ferrari are, and always have been vastly overpriced in relation to their performance. Porsche have always whipped them in competition, and (Chevrolet!) Corvette has been doing so now for over a decade. Better yet, buy a Catherham and outdo all of the above for far less money.

Best knife fight ever in a movie, unfortunately marred and made unrealistic by their annoyingly holding their knives upside-down.

    Shantung Panama Stetson Monticello

The Hat Jack will do the job just fine if it's less than a full size that you want to stretch. I've used one on many hats and caps. both felt, fabric and straw, There's certainly no reason to remove the sweatband from the hat, as that is primarily the part of the hat that you are going to stretch.

Which Brands of Dress Shoes, Old and New, Are Your Top Three?

Thanks. I hadn't seen this place before. Alas, mostly Propet, few other dress shoes, and none of them in any colors other than black and mid-brown in my size.
