I know this is annoying to hear, but as you build up your vintage collection you will come to tell what's vintage or repro without too much difficulty. Thick Hair?
I have super thick hair and it took me a very long time to be able to control it and make vintage styles work. In the end, I had to chop it off to neck length to make it do anything. Of course, this isn't a great solution for you if you want to wear that hairstyle. My hair did reach the small... -

This is the first dress I've ever made so it's far from perfect. The bodice is too big and the shoulders are too wide. I'm still proud of it regardless. I just can't wait to make my next project now!
