Hi Amy!
You, and your partner, look great in that photo! You have no need to lack confidence!
If it helps, I'm also plus sized (UK 18-20, depending on the shop) and I try to dress vintage every day, although sometimes that's not practical! My era is mainly 1950s.
Do you sew? It's...
Here's a before and after of a different kind- when I went to a gig a couple of nights ago.

My hair was WILD! I don't know how my friend's hair stayed so straight!!
My glasses are from Dead Men's Spex. I have some glasses I bought on Etsy a while back and want to get prescription sunglass lenses in them. I was thinking of asking him to do it but wasn't sure if they'd do that if I hadn't bought the lenses from them.
I think I'll send them an email and see...
You live in the Midlands right?
Maybe you could take your mum/sister shopping for their birthday but really use it as a shopping trip for yourself! lol

I got mine on Ebay uk. It's not in great condition- yellowing a bit around the edges- but it was super cheap.
I've seen a couple on Etsy in the past few days.
Just keep checking back. One will pop up eventually.
I have super thick hair and it took me a very long time to be able to control it and make vintage styles work. In the end, I had to chop it off to neck length to make it do anything.
Of course, this isn't a great solution for you if you want to wear that hairstyle. My hair did reach the small...
This is the first dress I've ever made so it's far from perfect.
The bodice is too big and the shoulders are too wide. I'm still proud of it regardless. I just can't wait to make my next project now!
It's Anne Adams 4670.
(Sorry for the funny face and puffy hair- it was the best picture...
This might be a really silly question, and I'm sorry if it's been answered somewhere in the thread already- there are over 40 pages to trek through to find out!
