There is a shop on etsy that makes pencil skirts in natural or high waist and will make the skirt at the length you request. Excellent prices and the one that I bought is made very well with just a bit of stretch for comfort. You can wash it on the gentle cycle - dry cleaning not necessary...- scarlett

Very cute Vivi - and what beautiful skin you have. Ginfizz, you look great in both pics. Hot rollers never work for me either. I get the best results from a curling iron and then pincurl the heated curls and let it set for about 20 minutes. -

Reliable cleaner for vintage in LA?
The only cleaner I've heard good things about is French Hand Laundry in Pasadena. If you do a search on yelp for french hand laundry there should be other suggestions there too. I have never tried them myself, I usually steer clear of items that require great care, I'm a little too clumsy for...- scarlett

'Hair flashes' from 1955 - just shows you nothing is new!
That picture reminded me of a scene in "Touch of Mink" where Audrey Meadows has a few different colored hair clips that she tries on before going out for the night while talking to Doris Day. And I thought the same thing, wow they had those then too? Everything old is new again. -

I ordered a pair of sailor pants from chicstar once - they were horrible! The fabric is very cheap and paper thin and the construction matches the fabric perfectly. Even at $40 - I would say no deal at all.- scarlett
