Blackthorn, Awesome adventure! I have to say that I too would have preferred the non-tourist section of the wall. I love the way it runs up the side of the mountain.

    The Conversion Corral

UPDATE: I could not find any good ribbon locally so I harvested a ribbon of a 30's vintage project hat that I have. On the old hat the ribbon looked greenish brown, on the new hat, it is obviously green. Unfortunately the ribbon was shorter as the vintage hat is a smaller lid so I was not...

I typically follow most of the hat etiquette rules and get a lot of nice smiles doing so. Eating with a hat on is a NO-GO here - learned that as a child and carry that tradition on.

Adventure! Fedora Lounge Folks in Action!

Blackthorn Did some research and found this: "The Inca Bridge is actually part of the stone path that heads west from Machu Picchu. This spot was considered to have been of vital strategic importance for the defense of the citadel. Here the Incas left a twenty foot gap in the carved cliff...

What I find interesting is if you look at the next to last photo it appears that the walkway under the bridge was not completed - it looks much like a window frame with the bridge being placed over it.

Sounds like you used to deliver to CC Miller, his sons were Brent and Sonny - lived on Congress Street in Morrisville - big white mansion looking house. Guess he was a cattle dealer. My Mom used to hang out with his sons. Small world!!

    Hats in restaurants

Typically if it wife and I, I place the hat beside me on an empty chair or on the seat of the booth beside me with a napkin over it to protect in case of spills. If the group is larger and no seats will be free and there are no coat / hat racks close to me (unless there is a hat/coat check, I...

I wonder if the bridge was part of a defensive set up? Looks like there are some steps of some sort built into the far wall.

What Was The Last Movie You Watched?

I concur, I think in the last 20 minutes the movie could have gotten better, the plot seemed much better. The killer falling out of the window was too convenient and IMHO the movie should have changed to him hunting down the murderer while avoiding the dogged investigator that is on his trail...

    Show us your TIES

I was at that Goodwill two days earlier and they were not there. After I got home I remembered there was a 6th tie on the rack. By the time I got back there - it was long gone. I occasionally find vintage ties, most of them are shredded or so stained it isn't worth the few bucks they are asking.

I picked up 5 of them at the local good will - modified them a bit for more current length vs the short 1940s length and wear the ties on a very regular basis. I get more compliments wearing vintage ties than I do the modern ones.

If my maternal grandparents were still alive, I bet they would know the folks in this photo as they lived in Morrisville. Going to send it to my mom to see if she recognizes any one.
