Oh yeah Levis makes theirs but in very limited #s and they feature different models in different years. For instance in 1997 the made a 1937 201. In 2000 they made a 33 501. Last year they made a 1947 etc.
The 1886s I have must have been made in small numbers cause I've only seen one pair raw...
One thing I've noticed is some not all but some of the Japanese companies over do their denim. Make it to slubby or to heavy in relationship to original Levis. I have a friend that has some original 50s and late 40s 501s still new with tags and some of the Levis cone mill stuff is pretty darn...
Heres a guy that I've bought from. Got the jeans two days after I paid at auction close from Germany. He always seem to have nice LVCs.

I usually search'm out on e-bay. Most of the stuff is very limited and can be hard to find raw/unwashed new with tags which is the way I prefer them. I did by my 47s at the Levis store on Mich Ave about 3 years ago. I've also bought from Aero leather. But I have found allot on e-bay.
Also the early LVCs are also my favorites. The ones with 555 on the button backs are even more collectable because of they were made at the Valencia factory using cone mills denim. The only LVCs I really like that were made later are the 1886s and they were still US made from 05.
If he would have got what he wanted through programs like the WPA and FSA he would have put everyone back to work just like the war did but years earlier. The war proved in that economy it would have worked. Everyone back to work depression over.
Heres some prime examples of my problem with the new right. Don't agree you get called a commie well I joined the Marines to fight just communism. Condescending remarks about the New Deal which again WORKED and would have worked sooner if Roosevelt would have been able to do what was needed. At...
You guys all keep missing the point. Roosevelt wanted to put everyone back to work. If he would have been able to do it it would have pulled us out of the depression earlier as proven by the fact the war gave us full employment and pulled us out of the depression. As in any war economy not only...
lol lol lol running up record defects, fighting a war and cutting taxes, in record debt to countries like China and we worry about Warren Buffet. I worry about whoever the next guy is in the whitehouse and how he's going to clean up this mess....
I said it worked in that economy. Roosevelt only got a small portion of what he wanted. He wanted was full employment. Again if he could have got it earlier it would have worked. How do we know this is when the war started everyone went to work the great depression was over. It worked in that...
Not to defend anyone but you have to remember the times. In the 1930s and into the 1940s there was allot of folks that gave up hope in capitalism because of the great depression. There were allot of movies and books that took slants towards socialism. Its a Wonderful Life (Frank Capra) and The...
Good point Jazz...HHHNMMM OK how 'bout a flat tax after deductionslol lol
Still I would pay allot less if I only paid 12% and there is nothing fair about the tax structure now. Most major corps pay no or very little income tax and those that do average about 14%. What was I reading Enron got...
