Hi, I will be moving to a new apartment soon. Can anyone suggest any place where I can find some nice vintage inspired furniture in a modest price range?
Thanks.
I agree. When I'm down in the dumps, I like to change my hair, get new glasses, put on makeup, do something that will force me to feel better on the inside. A lot of times, when I feel bad, I also change my style a bit; makes me feel like a new person, and the worse I feel the more dramatic...
Here are some vintage inspired dress links I have to share. Really lovely.

Aghh, what happened to my thread, I thought I posted a reply a few minutes ago...oh well, I'll try again.
Thanks all for your comments, I'm really excited about this idea, although I'm gonna just keep it real small for now...I just think it'll be fun to make a few pieces and have some pocket...
Hi ladies. I've been sewing for about 2 1/2 years, taking fashion design courses part-time and all. I think I'm pretty decent at it and would like to take a stab at selling some of my creations and hopefully maybe this could lead to some sort of self-business at least on a very small scale...
Finishing Side Opening With Underlap
You know how a lot of vintage patterns have the little diagram of how to sew an underlap for the side opening to sew hooks...well, it usually says to cut a strip of fabric to create the underlap, but does that strip have to be on the bias?
Thanks for the comments. Believe it or not, for the striped version, I used nursery print fabric from Joann. They just opened in my area so I'm going there every week. They have a surprisingly nice selection of cotton prints and I'm happy with the results.
anyone know anything about these Bass shoes called "Carla"? I wonder how the run; I've read reviews, but none are too specific about the fit. Maybe that means they're true to size.
So just sew a single layer of fabric for the pocket on to the blouse? How would you create that curve without the facing fabric? To me it makes a lot more sense to do that if it was a square pocket. Sorry, but my sewing experience is so limited...
Ladies, I've a question. I'm trying to make this blouse. I'm going to make the short sleeve version and add a pocket. The pattern says to cut out 2 pieces for the pocket, one for the facing. I'm using the 100% quilting cotton fabric from Joann. Probably not the best fabric, but Joann just...
Kamikat, I love the fabric and the way you used it. I don't see anything wrong with the bodice...maybe it could have been fitted a little tighter, but of course I'm no expert.
