    A/C in homes (even brand new ones) both here and in the UK is close to unheard of, in my experience. Obviously there's a huge temperature difference between here and California, but we use synthetic building materials, breathe, have dust, etc., and cope just fine.

    Spring cleaning those jeans...

    I've gotta agree cptjeff, I never even bother to turn mine inside out. I do hang dry, though, but I do that with all my clothes. I only use our dryer on towels, really. I don't like what it does to clothes, and such a waste of electricity.
