Mysterious object (possibly for cuffs or collar)
Many sewing patterns from the 1910s had collars that took a button tab. The directions call for a strip of twill tape with a button sewn on each end (shown on the second page of directions here: http://www.unsungsewingpatterns.net/2009/08/butterick-1074-mens-or-boys-negligee.html )- Nick D

The photo's not a Zep, it's the stern end of a ship. The SMS Hindenburg was a battlecruiser that was laid down in 1913, commissioned in '17, and scuttled with the rest of the German vessels at Scapa Flow in '19. There was also a German ocean liner named Hindenburg that was rechristened... -

I watched "The Transatlantic Tunnel" and "Of Human Bondage" last night. The first could have been a good film. Pen pocket, rare but I kind of like them. I put one on a Harris tweed waistcoat I made for a friend. The other originals I've seen also had a bit of a sag from pushing the pen clip down.- Nick D

Another great piece! Fabric, fit, style all working together! You keep giving me the motivation to keep working on my stuff. I can't make a jacket as fast yet, but I've got a linen DB sitting on my table, and a 1950s silk suit I'm working on for my wife that I really need to finish! -
