Wonderful as always, HBK! What's the stitching around the back brace buttons? Is it for a reinforce? I'm working with some linen right now, it's always a joy.

    1930s / 40s shirt research, input needed

A plain back would be unusual, they generally had some form of pleat or gathering at the back, either at each side or center.

The Thread to Display Your 1930s Suits

Spalla camicia. Really nice suit, the pattern in the fabric and the color of the buttons in particular. What's the width of the trousers at the cuff?

You see them on 3-piece suits, especially in the '30s I believe. It also may have been more of a European thing, at least that's where I've seen them most.

Gentlemen, show us what you've made!

It looks like a good basic model. I've not used a Singer in a very long time, but they do know their business. My current machine is a Kenmore, before that I had a bottom-shelf Necchi (never agian!). No reason not to get the Singer, but have you looked around thrift stores and such? You can...

    Spear point collar shirts

I just finished this shirt, from a 1930s pattern. It's the first attached collar mens shirt I've made. The collar that came with the pattern wasn't as long, but I didn't like how it turned out so I ripped it off and made this one, copied from a 1930s original but keeping the pattern's stand...
