You know... Bruce Wayne IS a regular member here. We should just wait for him to chime in and clear up and explain the scary voice thing. As long as we continue to keep his secret, of course.
1947 - Thor Heyerdahl's "Kon-Tiki", a balsa wood raft, completes it's 4,300 mile, 101-day journey from Peru to Raroia in the Tuamotu Archipelago, near Tahiti. Heyerdahl wanted to prove his theory that prehistoric South Americans could have colonized the Polynesian islands by drifting on ocean...
Glad to hear you'll be quitting smoking. Health reasons aside, I think you'll see tons of benefits. You've got tons of support here, and I hope you take advantage of it!
Thanks, gents! I feel confident about either brim style.
RBH, the Campdraft was actually one that I was considering. Thanks for the tip.
Metropd, you pull off that brim really well, and you have about the same facial shape, and slope in the shoulders as I do. That's a perfect...
Thanks Dan, that's very sound advice. I'll be sure to give it some thought. I would just have to coordinate my clothes with whichever brim I decide on. I'll have to get an inexpensive wide brim hat to experiment with. Anyway, when I do decide to go for a custom hat, I'm sure the hatter will...
Gene,
You're right, I am pretty slim, and that's part of the reason I was wondering if as wide brim would be right. However, yours seems to work well, so I think I'll be OK.
I think a wide brim projects a very "I mean business" look, rather than being youthful or old timer-ish. I...
I do have this 30's Stetson, but I don't like to give it much mileage, due to the age.
I like the look of the wide brims, but I'm just not sure how I feel about how they look on me. I know I should just wear what I want to, but I still feel paranoid about looking ridiculous with my face...
Wow! This is an awesome thread. You've got a goldmine there (not literally, a goldmine of history I guess). Great photos too... that's great you know so much about the history of the area.
The Good Life
Around here there are a lot of folks who live in RVs or mobile homes or trailers out in the country. Some of them are fitted with porches or sun rooms, sometimes decks. They can be on a little bit of land, or they can be the farmhouse for a few hundred acres of land, complete...
Well I'm having a hat transitional period. I've been selling off a lot of the old/ugly/too big hats I don't wear, and I'm only down to a couple that fit and I like. Unfortunately, I realize they're all stingy brims. For some reason, I don't like how they look on me anymore, and therefore...
Art, I wish you the best of health, but I know you won't need it. You're put here to create beautiful hats, and you won't be getting tired of it, or in a position not to do what you love any time soon. Don't you worry about that. You bring too much joy to people.
And secondly, I know...
I'd lean towards a brown to match, wool, as mentioned above, would work well. Your bow tie looks good with the jacket, though consider one in a solid color, as to not conflict patterns (which you didn't do, just a note). I think brown spectators would complete the look nicely.
Great find...
Dahlia! Your kitchen looks great! The colors really compliment each other, and that blue and white tile really sets a cool mood in the room. Great job!
Thank You For Being a Friend
Golden Girls is one of the first TV shows I remember watching when I was a young lad. I still catch an episode now and then and always enjoy it. She was a sweetheart and a real character. I'm glad she went peacefully and I imagine she was surrounded with lots of...
