The Resistol Roundup

@Roguehatter

Enjoyed seeing your hats. Where did you go?

A nice San Antonio just added to my hat room.
I can hear Patsy Cline singing " San Antonio Rose"

Mighty nice! The SA is one that has eluded me thus far.

It’s eluded me too, Randy. It’s high time we get on that train and set our sights on a pair of 7 1/8 SAs.

Resistol BR OR-style mystery hat here. Brim is 2 5/8“, open crown is 5 1/2”, size is 7 1/8 on inside label. Could this be a San Antonio?

I thought it might be a “Dalworth“ but the one I have has a 2 3/4” brim.

Here is my Dalworth — its a favorite and gets lots of head time

Did anyone here pick this up? It’s a model I have not heard of so I thought it should be archived here. Apologies if I’ve stolen any thunder.

1967 Resistol “The Beef Eater”. Made for the Nebraska Centennial.

1967 Resistol “The Beef Eater”. Made for the Nebraska Centennial.

It was a part of the Centennial sponsored by the Sandhills Cattlemen Association. Scott, @Cornshucker77 had info on the centennial & the association. I think at least one Beef Eater has turned up before.

As I recall from when we researched it, The Centennial was the model. Groups could commit to so many hats being embossed for their members, as giveaways, etc. It seems like one such group was either the Lancaster County Sheriffs Dept or the Douglas county Sheriffs Dept.

Would the factory label reflect that embossing as the style?

Don’t know, unless they were keeping count.
