It's not heavyweight by TFL standards and it drapes very naturally once broken in just a bit.

But my answer was based mostly on patterning itself.
I had FQHH Aeros which weighed 6-8 lbs and were absolute tanks, and don't want to have to deal with a jacket that stiff and heavy again. The SP540 is likely as much as I'm willing to carry at this point, but I'm going to the sale next weekend so maybe I'll try a 689H on, maybe it isn't as heavy as I suspect.

You should. I'm still kicking myself for passing up the opportunity to get one new for $500…

Damn I need to get me a heavyweight aero. One day I’ll get me a Hercules repro

4 lbs? Holy ****! And I thought it was a thin lightweight spring jacket, ha ha. Looks real good though. So maybe I'll have to get it for fall then.
LOL. I have a Fox Creek Men’s Classic II Motorcycle Jacket that weighs 9.6lbs! It weighs a ton when I pick it up, but don't really notice the weight while wearing it.

Their 188 and new 642 are very comparable to Enfeild and Model B.

I hope they copy some of the Aero pieces just to avoid duties
I would like to think that Schott were more of a stand up company than to copy Aero pieces .

Remember when Aero export they have already removed UK tax so prices in the US aren't too dissimilar to what a UK customer pays

Just saw this.. Re the Schott P266. I just bought one about a month ago. I really like it - but the Schott description of it is off. I bought a size XL. The specs say it has a 25+ inch chest measurement. My chest size is around 46 and I was debating whether to get the L or XL - then I had to go to NJ and managed to visit the Shott store in NYC. While there I tried on the P266. The XL fit great - almost tight. I measured the chest - it is 24. The leather is a little dull (which I like), unlike the Schott description and sort of textured. Weight wise - yea I'd consider it a mid weight and not light weight like Schott says.

Its a great jacket, though it is missing a front chest pocket and has zip sleeves which I don't like. The lambskin is the thickest and densest I've ever seen, it is very substantial.

As for sizing, it sounds like the SP540 where I had to upsize to an XL, which fits me almost perfectly. The spec sheet on each jacket page is helpful, but I much prefer trying a jacket on for fit confirmation before purchasing.

I have ventured into the trucker jackets' arena and tried on a P620H, a P622H and a 121 and need an XL for all of them, when I was perfectly fine with a large in 4 of my 5 other Schotts. Not sure why the sizing is structured/designed this way.

Try walking around in that for 6-8 hours and let us know how your shoulders feel LOL.
I've done many 8 hour days on the motorcycle wearing it, and it feels no different from any of my other lighter jackets. It's extremely comfortable, fits well, and wears well! But when I pick it up, I always think "holy cräp, this thing weighs a ton"!! LOL

Would love to see pics including a close up on the leather

Built like a tank!

I have the Fox Creek "Traditional" jacket, with no belt, no epaulets. When I got that one, I was getting into a more simple, clean look. But now I'm going the other way again towards epaulets and belt. Hence, looking at the 618HH.

Yes, the 568 "Bikeriders" jacket is a D pocket. From the Bikeriders movie. But it comes in letter sizes, not numbered. Looks like that's the only D pocket they make.

They used to make tons but I think they were less popular so they got phased out a few years ago. It's a shame because a lot of those were stunning designs.

I like the 568 too but it's a Sears repro. The discontinued D-pockets were vintage Schott designs still in circulation!
