This jacket, and another in brown, is from the personal archive of the original designer as a 1-of-1 factory design sample in 1979. It represents a radical, futuristic departure from traditional late 70s Western tailoring. While designed for the William Barry line, this avant-garde concept was ultimately deemed too premium and expensive to enter into production. The designer personally sourced the rare Japanese leather and engineered the patterns to challenge what a leather blazer could look like. Hide Origin is premium US Jersey Cowhides selected for their fine grain, structural integrity, and uniform density. Expertly tanned in Japan into an ultra supple calf glove skin with a semi-aniline finish.

Design studies are performed every day and design failures are those that never became mainstream. Whomever wore this jacket prior needed to bathe more often. That collar is gross. What else you got?
