Up for sale is a lightly worn pair of custom Engineer Boots from Role Club (Brian the Bootmaker), hand-built in Los Angeles, California.

Crafted from rich Brown Italian Horsehide, these boots have only seen approximately 10 light wears and remain in near-new structural condition.

Key Details & Features:

Maker: Role Club (Brian the Bootmaker)

Model: Classic Engineer Boot

Leather: Brown Italian Horsehide

Size: Stamped 28 on the upper facing (typically corresponds to ~US 9.5D on the Role Club last/Japanese metric sizing system).

Hardware: Solid brass instep and top buckles.

Soles: Original Role Club custom rubber soles and heel lifts with hand-cut leather stacks.

Condition: Excellent. Kept in a rotation with minimal wear. The vamps are free of deep creasing or established rolls, giving the next owner the opportunity to break them in and watch the leather develop its own personalized character over time.

Just FYI from what I've learned from Brian, 28cm doesn't necessarily equate to anything about the actual shoe size. It's simply the shaft size (11"). So if these didn't fit you properly that could be why.

I have quite a few boots from Brian. I wear a 28.5 in most of his boots. These are 28 and it does in fact correspond to a shorter boot.

yeah because 'typically' the shaft height is cut in relation to the boot size with Brian. but for customs and others, this is not always the case. for example I have a friend with a size 12D but he likes smaller shafts and has it also stamped 28.

just telling you for clarity's sake (and to possibly help with sizing concerns for anybody perusing these) that 28cm stamp on shaft is *not* a size 28 footbed. this is a common misconception with Role Club and I also did it until talking to Brian directly and he clarified. its 100% the shaft size only. one can only guesstimate the footbed size if youre not the original buyer, or base it on your personal fit opinion.

Cheers

These are his standard 10” shaft, so the 28 is not related to the shaft length.
i have no desire to keep going back with you here, there is no ‘standard 28 shaft” for role club. he literally changes the shaft for almost every size so it looks even. This is simply misinformation to say otherwise .

I’m literally relaying what Brian himself told me. Not my opinion.

If you’re measuring the footbed and it’s 28, then it’s coincidence that in these were sized 28/28 (shaft/footbed). Either that or 28 is one of the few sizes where shaft and footbed align

But I digress, glws

I think there is confusion when the listing clearly says it is a size 28. I have measured the footbed as 28 cm. I never said there is a standard 28 cm shaft. I said it’s his standard 10”. If you do not know your role club sizing, feel free to ask. I’m a brannock 10D and these are short for me.
