Role Club 1940s Engineer Boots - Brian's Hand-Finished Black CXL Horsehide (Tea-Core) - Brass Hardware (~10D Brannock)


Up for sale is an extremely rare, near-mint pair of custom 1940s Engineer Boots hand-built by Brian the Bootmaker (Role Club) in Los Angeles.


This pair features Brian’s famous in-house Hand-Finished Horween CXL Horsehide with a black overdye. This was a labor-intensive hand-finishing process executed directly by Brian, specifically designed to age into a striking tea-core patina as the underlying brown undertones emerge with wear.


Specs & Details:

Leather: Hand-Finished Horween Black CXL Horsehide (Tea-Core) (stamp seen in shaft)

Hardware: Solid Brass Roller Buckles

Construction: Hand-lasted, hand-welted, Role Club half-soles & heels

Condition: Excellent / Lightly Worn. Worn only 5 to 10 times in an office environment. Minimal sole/heel wear, clean insoles that have not yet molded to a foot shape, and no deep scuffs or gouges.


Sizing & Fit Reference:

No stamped size on these. Based on my foot measurements and standard boot lasts, these fit like a 10D US Brannock / 9.5 D in classic boot lasts.

I just don’t wear them enough to warrant keeping. I can grab an internal length later this morning.
