Nice ones, Simeon! Great work on that 5X! I've also been looking at getting some 3D printed hatter's tools to perform light maintenance and experimentation for some of mine. I'm curious to know which seller you chose for yours.
I have bought from RandalAlan (brim flange) and more recently HburgVintageCo (brim curlers and block).

The brim flange from Randal is great.

The brim curling tools are ok, but I dont know if they are great I dont have enough experience to say. Hburg's block is ok for basic shaping or storage but probably not for hat making. He was super responsive though, the first block received was not correct but I gave him measurements, front to back and side to side for my long oval head, and that one worked out ok.

My hat skills and basic at best amd I havent really invested a lot but what I have so far does what I want them to do.

I have come to realize that the more specific you can be with sizes and what you want the better product you will receive. It's always worth it to send the seller a message and confirm.

Nice afternoon out back watching the puppy dig holes! lol Hes discovered that when he digs he finds interesting rocks that he can carry around. ( Ill need to do a thorough rock sweep before I try to mow) Sitting out here under one of the 4x Stetsons that I massaged from a western into a tall fedora. Got one of my favorite straight Petersons ( a 440) loaded up with Boswell Northwoods... nice cool weather combo. Not pictured is the big spicy ****** Mary.... A decent afternoon....wet and potentially nasty weather expected starting tomorrow

This is a vintage Knox De Luxe fedora, built in Canada under license, most likely by Biltmore during the mid-20th century. To celebrate passing 100 subscribers, one channel subscriber will receive this hat. To enter, you need:

I believe numbers deserve to be celebrated. Not just as milestones, but the ideas behind them. That is why I love the symbol and concept of π (Pi). Pi represents something infinite, elegant, and quietly profound. It is a number that never ends, never repeats, yet perfectly describes something as simple and universal as a circle. Hats, in their own way, are the same. Every head is different. Every hat tells a story. There is beauty in the craft, the math, the history, and the human element that connects it all. Celebrating numbers is really about celebrating progress. It is part of a longer arc, and I am grateful to everyone who has been part of it so far.

Another nice sunrise this morning. Had way more orange at first but I didnt get the camera out soon enough to catch the "flash" ( only lasts for 30 seconds or so). Enjoying chilly mornings outside while I can..... saturday night we're supposed to be 19 degrees with a winty mix... Really hoping Mr Bear gets to see his first snowflakes this weekend!

Starting out the day with the old Akubra Lawson. Got this hat as a birthday gift back about 2005 or so. Its been al over the Western US and British Columbia..... has held up extraordinarily well. All my Heritage felts have held up well. Always loved the Fern green. Was hoping to ad another lighter Fawn Lawson yesterday but I was outbid at the end. Someone somewhere will be wearing a nice hat soon ( sad face)

Excellent, Rick! I've tried Boswell's Northwoods way back in the day when I was piping. I've tried a few of his aromatics as well. Enjoyed them all. Wish I still had my pipes!

Thank you, Simeon! You and I are probably are probably on par with what we're trying to do. Just a little light maintenance and some experimentation. I have a few hats that I'd like to bring back to open crown without tearing the hat down to do it. Not looking to re-block any. But I also have some I'd like to work on the flange as well.
