A chilly, overcast day with a few snow flurries. Wearing a late 40's to early 50's Resistol Twelve Fifty kitten finish paired with my Tony Lama snip toes in goat leather.

Nice Adam hat. But, I'm really digging the coat!
I accidently bought TWO identical coats.. from two different ebay sellers a few months back... got the first on in that was listed as grey and really liked it.... found another identical jacket that was listd as blue so I bid at the last minute and got it cheap.... evidently one seller looked at the pattern and the other at the background lol. Next time my brother makes it up to this part of the state Ill see if he wants one

Its a JACHS brand.... Pretty decent wool blend jacket... fairly well made and theyre reasonably priced on ebay ( Think I got one for $15 and the other for $10)

Just my opinion, but Hornskov just seems to do hats perfectly. What a great hat! For shopping, or whatever.... The quality, the attention to detail. And what he does with his fingertips in the last few moments of shaping a hat? Magical.
I have five of them (though one is the wool felt I bought as a first dip into custom hats), so clearly, I’m a fan. Unfortunately, custom hats are a stretch for my budget these days. I would have to pay more than twice what I did to get the same hats made today.

Leopold Nagy Wien, "Der Nagy Hut", possibly late 1920s. The Dark Red Olive Felt is of very high quality. Interesting Lighter Red Olive Brim Binding and Black Band / Frayed Bow combination. Has a very wide Light Gray Corded Sweatband. This is an early one and I am not sure if it was sourced and the condition is NOS. Snowy weather so not the best photos. I found this Soft Felt back in 2011.

I loved the secession-ish crown mark when you first posted this hat and I still love it today.

alas .....another nice Akubra color we dont see too often over here
It was a special order as they did a run every six months or so, or use to. Federation blue is the colour from memory which is a very Aussie term for a period 1901-10. I am gradually expanding my colour range of Stylemasters which to my eyes is the classic Abubra version of a city fedora though the Bogart is very similar.

Haha, that's funny. At least it wasn't an expensive accident! It's totally my style, and if I say so myself, a great look. I hope your brother enjoys it, as well.

Another nice sunrise this morning. Had way more orange at first but I didnt get the camera out soon enough to catch the "flash" ( only lasts for 30 seconds or so). Enjoying chilly mornings outside while I can..... saturday night we're supposed to be 19 degrees with a winty mix... Really hoping Mr Bear gets to see his first snowflakes this weekend!

Starting out the day with the old Akubra Lawson. Got this hat as a birthday gift back about 2005 or so. Its been al over the Western US and British Columbia..... has held up extraordinarily well. All my Heritage felts have held up well. Always loved the Fern green. Was hoping to ad another lighter Fawn Lawson yesterday but I was outbid at the end. Someone somewhere will be wearing a nice hat soon ( sad face)

Today is my experimental Beaver Hats 5x that I can't seem to leave alone. I recently got some 3d printed brim curling tools and reshaped the brim and reshaped the crown also. It's a great work hat.

Nice ones, Simeon! Great work on that 5X! I've also been looking at getting some 3D printed hatter's tools to perform light maintenance and experimentation for some of mine. I'm curious to know which seller you chose for yours.

Highly recommend WalshDesign3D, an Etsy store. Allan makes great stuff and stays in touch throughout the making process to make sure you get exactly what you need. He's in engineering, so he really understands the design processes on these tool.

Great start to a cold day, Rick! Cheers! It'd be a nice day for a hardy English blend!

I have some of his stuff in my Etsy cart as we speak. Just trying to justify the purchases. And thank you, Jeff! WalshDesigns will be the one when I'm ready to pull the trigger.
