My new vintage Resistol Tycoon in Gray Granite. Sz 6 7/8 Long Oval. Fits like a dream & is light as a cloud! I still am interested in small 7's though & not sure where this one comes in as true to size but I love the teardrop & the 3 1/4 brim & 4 1/2 inch crown are super wearable. It's like it was meant to be on my head. Pretty sure its a 1970's 3X beaver.

Does anyone thing the Cattle King is too much though? I still like it. Gives me great sun coverage.

While a Tycoon is a wonderful addition to anyone's collection, I think the Cattle King looks great on you.

While a Tycoon is a wonderful addition to anyone's collection, I think the Cattle King looks great on you.

Thanks, It's a lot of hat & not too many cowboy hats in So Cal but I have seen a few.
I never used to like hats & they were unflattering. I'm really getting into the hat look now. I think I needed a strong hat & not a floppy straw sun hat. Trouble is I'm under 5 foot... good thing is it gives me some height but it's a lot of hat to carry around on such a petite lady.

Hat was really clean though I brushed & vacuumed it. I've gotten lucky with some well taken care of vintage Resistols.
I'm just not a fan of the cattleman crease but it's growing on me. I like the teardrop. The Cattleking is my only sz 7 & it's a bit roomy but workable. I can bring it down low on my head where as the 6 7/8 or smaller is higher up.

Learning how to buy a hat & what works better. The hat seems to be a full 6 7/8 & is close to a 7. If I use this guideline I can get a good fit.

I have a near identical Sovereign Twenty. It's missing its wind cord, and original liner. It's great seeing what it looked like in pristine condition.
