Got lost down a rabbit hole this morning hunting for the origins of this unusual mint color hat. I've had it for some time but don't wear it often. Apparently, University Club was a trademark of Murphy-Gorman Co. of Danbury, CT (home of Mallory, Lee and dozens more). Their more well-known trademark is for "The Celebrated Emerson Hat." They applied for this trademark in 1926 though from the union label, this hat dates after 1934. It has a handsome mid-ribbon panache and is, of course, in minty-fresh condition. ;^)

Good morning. A dog soirre was sweaty effort under the morning humidity and heat. A Pedigree panama was my head gear for the efforts. The sweat and sweat liner is quality and was up to the task. A Genuine Panama Airliner! The brim of the hat drooped in the heat. It will need some steam and flanging.

Blocked & dimensionally perfect. Michael makes a very fine hat!

Agreed Jack. When I put on a Gannon (in the style I have named Wanderer) it has just the right stuff. The Gannon hats always look right.

VoodooSan I look and am amazed at the variety, hues and quality of vintage hats I am fortunate to have at home. I think the *****le comes into my eye when I am making a selection of hat to wear. I have the good fortune to follow a whim. Whim's are frequent for me. The unasked question - how come you wear so many hats? I wear my hats in chores, efforts, and daily use. I would wear a hat out if I wore it for long periods. In order to more gently wear my hats I change them out frequently.

Amazing, as always. Be honest, Eric: do you ever just sit in your hat room (wing? building?), look around, and giggle delightedly to yourself? If you don't, you're made of sterner stuff than I am.

:D

Today by the Bay, I'm wearing my Dobbs Palomar, gray, made from Milan straw. It has a 2 3/8" brim and crown vents. Perfect fedora as we move from spring to summer here in Florida (just kidding! It's all summer here).
