Schott shinki fit

Recently got this schott aviator jacket. Wondering if the sizing is ok, aside from the sleeve length which I plan on correcting. I do have a vintage 613 that is trimmer and shorter but I have a fairly long torso.

Yea my 613 is a 42 and this is a large. Sadly no medium is available. May look better with wear but not sure.

This style of jacket is historically a bit longer. But to be fair the medium is an inch shorter in back length at 25.5 inches which would likely look better.

Way too long IMO, although I like shorter jackets. If you shorten the sleeves to where they should be, they’d end up roughly at the same length as the hem. That’s just too long. I think that jacket would look too long even on someone who didn’t need to shorten the sleeves.

I think it looks fantastic. Definitely not too big; there's some chest drape going on, which is a positive.

A year or two ago I would have agreed that it's too short, but I don't think so anymore. A vintage jacket would have addressed this by having the zipper not go all the way to the hem., but that's what the two-way zip is for. I'd bring that up a couple of inches.

True but remember the old catalogues mention that men of 6'0 or taller could get a Long version that adds 2-3 inches.

No it isn't. Historically, aviator jackets like this are usually shorter. This jacket is too long in the body as well as in the sleeves I know you said you could take care of the sleeves, but you can't fix the body length issue.

The jacket isn't too short. You are just wearing jeans with quite a low rise in these photos.

Yea I guess that makes more sense. But not all my Jeans are a traditional high rise, thats why I wanted a longer jacket but overdid it I guess.

Warm soak might shrink the shinki. Doubt its worth a schott though on a brand new jacket.

You have quite a lot of shrinking to do in all directions (especially length) to make this work. SHRINK THE SHINK!

I have to agree with the majority : it is one size too big... The sleeves and the torso are at least one inch too long.

Its too bad because the leather is beautiful. Guess will be looking into sale or trade. I don’t have the balls to stick this jacket into water.

If anybody has a medium and wants a large pls let me know.
