Thank you. Will do, once I muster up some courage. They are amazing looking shoes. Definitely wear them.
There's a boot version, too but somehow they don't look as interesting. The shoe is all out demented.

@Monitor Congrats on this beautiful pair of boots. I know this brand from very expensive Avantgarde style leather jackets but I've never handled the leather so far and have no clue if the quality is justified. If you don't wear them you know one who's probably interestedOfficer derbies by Carol Christian Poell
I honestly don't know why I got these. They're beautiful, beautiful, ugly-*** clompers, made otherworldly superbly, as sturdy as any pair of boots that I have handled but I just don't know. I like them a lot. I doubt it I'll even wear them.
They're made of 2 mm veg tanned horsehide and are constructed with a lifetime of wear in mind. Naturally, none of the people able to easily afford these are going to wear them their entire life but the idea is appealing.
The back... metal thing is actual metal. The laces are stretchy. You can close them using the clamps or you remove the clamps and tie them up. Despite the deranged shape, they're extremely comfortable to wear but you gotta get the right size!
In any case, I just had to have them. They don't bore me even though I look and feel ridiculous and insane in them.
So I don't know... Enjoy the photos, if you can.

Thank you, Robbie!
Leather is of the highest caliber, you'll have no doubt once you see it. It's really, really nice. The regular horsehide is not as thick as what we're used to but the thick version is some 2mm so that's plenty enough. Other than that, the clothes feels tough and has been serving me fantastically so far but we'll see.
This stuff is very pricey but it's not obscenely pricier than some other high-end brands like RMC & especially nowhere near what some fashion brands are asking for their ****py clothes, all the while it's what I always wanted the most so why not.![]()
They are a nice boot. I love the contrast stitching.Managed to score some Lofgren Chelsea boots in black CXL which I'm pretty excited by - they fit well and seem comfortable straight out of the box.

Thanks for the additional information @Monitor Please wear them as the derbies are eyecatcher and quality wise (leather and craftmanship) do seem to be top notch. Now I want a pair ;-) Do they use Guidi HH or any other HH source? I know Guidi HH which is one of the best leather types I've handled so far and it's also not as thick as Clinch Horsebutt. I also like Culatta like the one used for these handmade guys (the leather and boots are also very sturdy like Clinch and leather is also in a range of probably 2mm).

these are the craziest (good crazy) pair of leather shoes I've seen. If I had a dream about a well dressed man in an apocalypse situation, these would be themOfficer derbies by Carol Christian Poell

@Monitor Man, you're driving me crazy ;-) I was about to pay a deposit for a new Thedi (1930s German motorcycle jacket made of either red Badalassi or blue deerskin....the one they posted on Insta in February) which is more or less the same price as the CCP derbies....and now I've seen your additional comments on CCP derbies (thanks a lot for your recommedations and help!!).They use Culatta among other hide, but I'm not sure which type. The shiny leather, one that my shoes are made from, is made in-house from what I understand and nowadays most of the Carol Christian Poell leather comes from only two tanneries in Italy. Guidi uses fantastic leather and I love their Culatta a lot! CCP's Culatta is a lot more unhinged.
Grab a pair! The Darklands in Germany should have Culatta derbies in your size and I can only promise you, these shoes are so damn comfortable and good looking you'll have no regrets.
I can help you out with sizing & any other info that you need but they're seriously worth the shot. I bought the CCP's A Diciannoveventitre and another brand at the same time and as beautiful as they all were, I only kept the CCP because once in hand, you see the insane amount of details and touches compared to the other brands that aren't even cheaper, at that.
I have Culatta derbies on the radar right now, too.

If it makes you feel a bit more motivated: I also try to convince myself the same; and last week I pre-ordered another pair of Vass.I have way to many shoes and boots, both formal and informal, and I just won’t wear them nearly enough to justify the expense.
@Monitor
Both are impossible this year - just one is possible. Yes, Darklands Berlin do have my size but now I'm torn whether I should go for another (unique) Thedi or for another black pair of shoes after getting the black Clinch Jodhpur (my personal grail boots).
I‘m The really tempted but I already have too many shoes and boots and I already have my grail boots (Clinch Jodhpur) which are timeless and I‘m not sure if I will still like the CCP in a couple of years. As far as the Thedi jacket is concerned I decided not to order right now. Anyway thanks again for offering to send links to me.Let me tell you why I ultimately decided to start spending serious money on CCP, whilst always holding back on anything else.
Thedi makes an absolute top of the line jacket but it is only as unique as long as nobody else spec's it the same.
I know how inconsequential this ultimately is as it's all just marketing anyhow - But! - I feel that if I'm going to drop nearly two thousand Euros on something, even though I know it's not going to be truly special, I want it to have the best lore on the market. I need it to gaslite me into insanity and this is something CCP does hella well.
Lol anyway, albeit similar enough to be categorized under the same style code, every line of (nearly) anything CCP counts a couple of dozen or so pieces, each individually numbered with every subsequent drop differentiating from the rest. But that's just the beginning of the madness - In example, the variations between seemingly identical products are also often unique to the specific CCP dealership, which means that even if, say, a certain style of boots shares the same model number across all dealerships, the pair you bought from, say, Darklands, might still not be exactly the same as the pair you would've gotten from Library1994 or Samsa G.
For instance, these are last years Culatta derbies....

And these are the current ones.

Does this utterly groundbreaking switch of the direction of the stretch-marks matters? Same as a Talon vs Crown zipper, I guess.
I am no expert but Clinch does things the same way, making some alteration to their wonderful boots with each new year.
However, there's another important perspective from which to look at the matter!
Buying a Thedi will get you an objectively expensive looking, sleek, stunning leather jacket that no doubt screams quality and workmanship while frankly, for the majority of people, this CCP stuff... Won't. Especially not the footwear that looks like something you ought to have retired years ago.
I've had people subtly recommending me a good brand of shoes after taking notice of my CCP's and I honestly couldn't bring myself to explain that I've paid over $1500 for them - Primarily because I didn't know how to justify this to myself.
But I still love them!
So there's that, too.
But I nearly forgot: Robbie, if I remember correctly, you take a more common shoe size, right? Meaning that unlike me & my size 12 feet, you can easily take advantage of the pre-owned CCP market!
CCP Discord channel has a very active buy/sell section so you shouldn't have much trouble finding something in your size that you like. I can hook you up with the links if you want.
They look very cool - may I ask how easy they are to get on and off?Red Wing Pecos.
Ordered Thursday, delivered Friday. An impulse buy after they were unavailable for quite some time over here.
Leather („Brown Boomer“) is an easy marking, juicy pull-up variety with the Color appearing anything in between a chocolate brown (think dark-brown Horween CXL) and a caramel tone.
A bit too my surprise, I am VERY pleased. Fit couldn’t be better (easily my best fitting pull-on boots straight out of the box), they are super pleasant to walk in, and the style and Color pretty much goes with anything in my wardrobe.
I know that RW does not get unqualified love in these parts, but if you like them, these are a real gem.
Sizing: the last is narrower than the IR, Beckmann, Blacksmith, but I got an „E“ width which pretty much negates that. I went with the same size as my IR.

This is awesome news - full disclosure I just got excited and ordered some in my usual RW size - I'll have to see how they fit and if the dreaded heel slip can be eliminatedEXTREMELY easy, yet I don’t have any noticeable heel-slip.
I guess, I am just lucky, that this model is a perfect fit. As discussed when you bought the Lofgrens, these are boots I just couldn’t get on/off. Mr Lous are a very good fit too, but with a more pronounced heel-slip until the sole is fully broken in.
Of course, I am still honeymooning, but it seems the Pecos are bang on my sweet spot: more comfy than Engineers, more sturdy and better to walk bigger distances than my Cowboy boots.
