What Jacket Are You Wearing Today?

Fieldmaster for me again today. Weather is perfect for it. Despite the mediocrity of this jacket, there is something about it I really like. I hit it with dark brown Urad to darken it a bit and give the brown a bit more rich shade.

They do make detachable collars. Perhaps it depends on the jacket? I’m only more familiar with LW MC jackets.

Yeh, the Trojan definitely has a detachable mouton collar. I’ve never seen one on a Suburban before. Obviously custom. Can’t see why he couldn’t do a detachable. It’s a thought.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s a solid piece. I look at vintage Sears this way:
Herc-Golden Era
Fieldmaster: Silver/Bronze age
Oakbrook: Bronze age
Leather Shop: Pig iron apocalypse

So while it’s a nice jacket, when I compare it to the multitude that have passed through, it’s definitely a tier below. Certainly not bad, but certainly not great. Those HH Hercs set the bar super high.

I have a Leather Shop cross-zip an old tenant left behind as garbage. Pig iron apocalypse indeed. It has a blown out arm seam. Part of me wants to get it fixed. It’s not the WORST jacket in the world and it fits me perfectly. I don’t think I’d ever wear it though.
