Post New Hats Here!

[BobHufford]

What do you think this hat might fetch on the Bay?

Danged if I know Bob -- I had a Texas Hatters that I couldn't get $30 for and a Stetson Whippet that went for $860. @deadlyhandsome probably has a better handle on the eBay market. I hang around the "less than $50" hat markets.

The other Borso ...

Two great hats Bob. Too bad on the size.

Let me know when you list it as I have a client looking to add to his Borsa lineup.

Too bad Brent Bob—they are beautiful.

Fixed it for you. Thanks Mighty.

Thanks Joe! Once I removed the four pieces of card stock behind the sweat on the Fu Lazaro I could almost wear it. Almost ...

Will do Robert.

Thanks @BobHufford — that’s two I owe you! Apologies again! This time it was the 7 5/8 that threw me…

Cool 60s vibe Strat beater. I’m so used to my older Strat that this almost feels like a stingy—2 7/16 brim and 5 1/4 open crown. Still—nice amount of character in a small package.

I like a good beater, and that hat checks all of the boxes for me. Easily wearable and, "beaterness" aside, I think it suits you; nice hat for those casual days.

Looks like the real deal. Nice find.

This one came in today. Tirard GrandRaid fedora in grey-blue (almost looks purple in some lighting conditions) colour called "ceylon". Size 56 with the bound brim at 6,5cm and the crown at 10cm at the center dent. Very lightweight at only 78 grams and with vent-holes in the sides of the hat. The ribbon looked like felt on the seller's pics, but it looks to be folded and stitched grosgrain ribbon. I like these lightweight hats a lot and I tend to buy Tirard hats if they look halfway decent because they don't come around very often. Tirard was one of the first ones to go under in the post-war hat decline, so their hats are more difficult to find.

It has already found a new master, but I don't want to deprive you of the pictures of this one. Sooros homburg hat in mixed grey. Size 59 with the bound and contrasting brim at a good 5cm and the crown at 10,5cm at the center dent. Very lightweight for a homburg (-ish) hat at only 84 grams. The felt is thin and almost airy with a great hand. It takes on any crease you'd want to try with no effort at all. You can see by the pics how it creases. Fabulous hat, sold by Ugo Puri of Rome.
No other label inside the hat other than the size label.

Great find, Stefan. Congrats to its new keeper. Damn, why isn't it my size.

Inexpensive (but genuine) Panama hat. 3 3/4” brim and the crown is 4 1/8” at the peak.

A little nicer genuine Panama hat. 4 3/8” at the peak and 3 1/8” of brim:

I love photos where you can really tell how great the felt is. This is a special hat and I hope the new owner appreciates it.

It is my size. But I wasn’t told
It’s alright. I don’t think I’ll be getting any more felt hats past Etsuko for a while. I will try for a couple of straw this summer. I’m thinking Sunbody.
