And for many others... they will have to review their pricing
Agree. Problem for them is if they import their material (like Italian horsehide for example), their production costs would go up as well. Yeah, this will change the market all right.

Sounds like an ideal moment for this Engelbert Vanek fellow in Austria to... make a website?
We are all a bit confused when it comes to the internal workings of BK. Best not to think about it too much, and enjoy the jacketsAh, yes that’s right as @Mandarin pointed out. I’ve never purchased from them, but seemed to remember someone saying that their workshop was in Greece? Hence my confusion on their location.
John Lofgren Monkey Boots Shinki Horsebuttt - $1,136 The classic monkey boot silhouette in an incredibly rich Shinki russet horse leather.
Grant Stone Diesel Boot Dark Olive Chromexcel - $395 Goodyear welted, Horween Chromexcel, classic good looks.
Schott 568 Vandals Jacket - $1,250 The classic Perfecto motorcycle jacket, in a very special limited-edition Schott double rider style. Let's make these guys some money. Best part, once they become famous, all those other slackers are going to have to up their game to keep up.
I read that there are some rules about an item being produced in the UK that may be releived from some of the fees that are coming with import.
I should also say that it is quite hard to understand the whole thing. Don’t take my words for the absolute truth as I don’t think everything clears until we have grown in to it some time next year. There are about 2000 points in the agreement to understand. It wasn’t meant to be a Brexit thread
Cheers Joakim

Imagine buying an elmc californian direct from Eastman. £1200 +£30 Shipping.
£1230*1.12 (customs fee)=£1378
£1378*1.21 (VAT)=£1667 =€1850
That's €1850 for a stock Eastman jacket.
I could buy a custom Shinki hh Thedi from that money and still have €300 left in my pocket.
Same holds for Aero, Field Leathers and any other maker from the UK.
I was on the phone with Vanson yesterday,
Can't wait to see your new creation. I'm sure it is gonna rock. I notice you are getting it made in CXL? Is that from Horween? Did they mention anything about their next comp. weight leather? Hopefully Vanson can weather this storm.
It is Horween CXl, the same batch that was used to make the "Gold standard" Left Field Commando (as pictured in my previous post). It is a little bit thinner than what Aero uses, closer to 3oz than 3.5oz.
Apparently after making the 20 (not sure if 20 is total or per size) jackets from the run they had enough left for a couple jackets.
I asked them if they would agree to make a custom commando for me with some of it, they said "sure, if Chirstian says yes", Christian at Left Field said yes and we got started.
It was really a fun project, i got to mix and match all the features i liked from the Commando, Chopper and J-82, I actualy had Theresa (the woman who designed the Vanson Commando) on Facetime, designing the pattern in real time as we spoke about it.
I spoke with them about the current leather and i think they are doing the best they can with what is available to them. A lot of tanneries are closing, the guy who used to wax their leather retired, their last two tanneris went down, but i think they are doing ok and pushing forward.
As far as I Remember I received my BK jacket from Greece but paid in GBPAh, yes that’s right as @Mandarin pointed out. I’ve never purchased from them, but seemed to remember someone saying that their workshop was in Greece? Hence my confusion on their location.
I‘ll give a short review after receipt of the Engelbert Vanek...just concerned about the length of the jacketSounds like an ideal moment for this Engelbert Vanek fellow in Austria to... make a website?
@Marc mndt Congrats. I like all of them and I’m curious about the Chinese type II. Looking forward to your review. Is the Eastman new or second hand, also in terms of import tax from UK?Incoming :
1) Eastman Californian in black
2) Y2 roughout type II
3) Chinese canvas / leather type II

The above jacket is obviously inspired by Thedi's canvas/leather shawl collar. Normally, I'm not interested in buying knockoffs but this one is just loosely inspired by the original so I thought I'd give it a go.
