Gentlemen, thanks. Very satisfying to find these hats and the Wormser arriving was a bonus!

[steur]

I'm in the homburg market! Or is this one purely for the collection?

Justin, thanks. It's not for my collection, but it was bought on behalf of another lounger, so it won't be put in the classifieds I'm afraid.

Rehfus & Cie. "Zephyr" "Extra Extra Qualität", French Point 5 1/2. The condition is excellent so probably seldom worn. It came with an original shop Hat Case and Hat Brush. I am thinking post WWII but still uses Rehfus & Cie. and the 1950s Soft Felts used Rehfus Hutfabrikaten. Also the factory was heavily damaged + looted after WWII and didn't go back into production until 1951.

It was with some trepidation that I ordered an orange fedora, but the price was right and it was the last one. It arrived today, and not only does it fit perfectly, the color is also spot on! It's a Pantropic Skylar LiteFelt in burnt orange. I'm gonna keep it (and it will probably see a lot of outdoor use)!

My sense of hats is that they are "beaters," mostly to be worn (you should see my marathon running hats!). I don't have the room or resources to buy expensive headgear that will spend most of its life inside a box. This is a "wearer." It's got a chinstrap for windy weather (or for me, for driving with my windows slightly open).

And it arrived on a day when I was wearing an orange shirt!

Today i received my Oddchap hat from Pierre Huvet from France.
Nice fedora in colour Truffle, with an olive army hatband with contrasting bow and matching brimedge.
I think he did a perfect job on this one, and the hat sits perfectly. Very pleased with it.

I took my son to the thrift store to find a few pieces for his Halloween costume. I came across neato item.

A straw loose weave flat cap. At first I thought a bit ****y in it's shape. After putting it on my head... It was almost like built in air conditioning in just the lightest breeze. All those little holes not only let the air in it seems to cool it too!

It may look a bit like an upside down fruit bowl but I think this thing could come in handy here in South Florida where summer... Is most days.

Best,
Joe

My first thought about this hat was "Grand". This is indeed a grand hat. A chocolate tone-on-tone fedora, 4 1/2 inch finished crown, 1 3/4 ribbon, and a 2 1/2 brim with Cavanagh edge. I think Stetons called some of these a Mode Edge. This is an Imperial Stetson. I was amazed when I picked it up. The felt is buttery smooth with a super-fine texture. Yes, I will go so far as to say it rivals my 100's. The felt on the Imperial is not as dense as the 100's but this hat is just the right balance between a too stiff and too light to hold a crease. This is one of those few size 7's that I can actually wear (I'm a 1/8). I have not done a great job with pictures, but this is a very nice hat and goes with lots of what I wear. No plastic on the liner and a black keyhole size tag with a gold outline and lettering, so I'm thinking early 50'? This one looks and feels nice and, to be honest, the Imperial has now become No. 2 on my watch list behind only a 7XCB.

And, of course, it comes Aquanized!!! Gotta love those Marketing folks!

Very nice... a Canadian built Stetson.
