My second Stetson Bantam. I like it even better than my first.

My first Stack. This one is a 7 1/2. All it needed was a little padding. It still is a little loose, but I like my hats that way anyway.

The Stack is a great find, max, but I must say I like the look of the Bantam very much. Cool additions!

Meister Filz. Funny, I don't remember buying this one. Maybe Stefan sent it as a gift with the one he sold me? Juan Carlos brought 35 hats with him, so I don't know.
Anyway, it is a size 57, according to the tag, but it is almost wearable for me. It is either mislabeled, or I have a transformer head. A week in a custom band block should do the trick.
Can you tell me more about this one, Stefan or Steven?
P.S. The dark spots in the felt are due to the steam I just finished applying to it. It was badly wrinkled from being stacked for transport, but it ironed out nicely.
And Ana thought I bought the best steamer for her. How naïve. [emoji2]

@steur or @Mayserwegener?

It was a bonus hat, Max. It was just sitting there being a wallflower and I figured I'd send it along with the German made Stetson. If nothing else just to help you develop a taste for the better European felts
Can't tell you much about the brand; it's one of those mysteries of German hat manufacturers, but a very well made hat. Enjoy!

Gordon Somerset Quality. One of my best hats. I would put it in the "My Ten Best Hats" thread. Really beautiful felt, even better than my long hair Borsalino Gorasgu.
Outstanding. It was really expensive, but I don't regret buying it.
The most accurate color is the one on the seller's pics at the bottom.

That is a thing of beauty, Max! Superb.

Thank you, Stefan! I was mystified. Beautiful hat. It fits well now. [emoji2]

With a collection growing as fast as yours you better be prepared to come across the "problem" of not knowing what hat it is you looking at more often. Great problems, those
Merry Christmas, Max.

Took a month to get here, but just in time for my New Years Eve flight to warmer waters.

That smoking cap would go great with a velvet dinner jacket. Every gentleman should have one (at least).
Merry Christmas, Alan.

Such dangerous advice... ;^) Merry Christmas to you too!

*sigh* Nowhere near as stylish as Mr. Friedman's smoking cap, but...well, here it is.

Happy Christmas to me. At least I wasn't alone...

On the left is Paul, one of my brothers-in-law, and in the middle is John, one of the hosts of our Christmas gathering this year and the person responsible for shanghaiing us into wearing these silly things. If ya' can't beat 'em...

[LONG STORY SHORT]

For past few months I have been practising hat making, Here are te first results - basic grey fedora. It's a 5.5 inch tall open crown with ~2.6 inch brim + ~1.5 inch ribbon made out of Czech 100% rabbit felt. After a few takes on the hat I have finally made the shape right for my taste and here it is:

Obviously the that is not perfect. The hat body has not been pounced, so it a little shaggy on the close-up. Each time I have been sanding the hat body, the process has left the mark of the felt - crease alike or a spot, but that's maybe because I was using ready made sanding blocks with rough edges. Any advice on this field is more than welcome.
Also, when I turn the sweatband out is distorts the whole shape of the hat, probably because it's more tubular than cone shaped, like I have seen it done by professional hatters - again, I'm happy to receive any tips on this.
Other tan than that, I think it looks good and I'm definitely going to wear it to the ground, in order to find out what I have done wrong. Let me know what you think.

I think it looks very nice. The sweatband problem is easily solved. You need to bell the sweat when cutting it. After cutting it to length, trim about 1/16" off each end at an angle. The reed point needs to be the correct length, but you need to angle a cut on each end so the "raw" edge on each side is about 1/16" shorter. When you join the sweat, it will be slightly tapered.

Finally getting pics up of my St. Regis. I've been in the market for a grey Homburg for some time to round out my color choices. I don't wear Hommies much, but lacked both this color and a St. Regis to complete formal choices for myself.

It's been sitting in a local vintage store since October, but for whatever reason, I held off buying it. I walked in a fee days before Christmas and told myself, if it was still there, I was buying myself a present. It was. I did.

It has a rather incorrigible wind trolley which I suppose I'll have to tend to atalk-cdn.com/20181230/34b75476b21bc70acc64e4cea741a419.jpg
