Post New Hats Here!

[Joao Encarnado]

Joao, if the hat came from the USA then those signatures are probably professional rodeo cowboys or country western stars. It is very common here in Texas to see people get their hats autographed at rodeos by the contestants and the musical entertainers.

Yes, the hat was from USA.
There are so many rodeo cowboys and country western stars that I don't know where to start. Is there a "database" with signatures?

I'm late to the party on this one - but my friend - I love the sombrero on you ! You might just have convinced me to get the credit card out!! I've admired this hat from a distance for just too long now...

Thank you. I've been searching for an Akubra for long but the ones I always found had narrow brims (3" or less). This sombrero was sent to me from Australia, not USA.

How wide is the brim on that one? I like that sombrero.

Who knows Joao? YOu may have some famous signatures there. I would have no idea how to access a data base though. It would be nice if you could read the names at least.

Oh and that's another nice TAR you got there, Terry.

Very nice new arrivals, gents. It looks, that everyone found a jackpot hat. My Congrats on all!

Glad it arrived to you safely, Perry!! Enjoy!

I must be getting old, I accidently posted this in the Borsalino thread. Sorry about that, I deleted it. I found this Stetson Western style Nutria at Goodwill for $10.00. Felt was in perfect shape, very soft and pliable, not stiff like some western bodies. Liner pretty clean and shows the Nutria label. Too bad the sweatband was rotted out. I'm going to have to decide what to do with it as far as a conversion goes. I'm not a cowboy so no since trying to pretend by wearing this way.

Good find fedoralover! You could work some magic on that thing to convert it for little cash.

Perry, I'm excited about your new hat. That thing looks pretty sweet, my friend!

Thanks Harv. It's a contender for the upcoming St Patrick's Day hat.

Thanks!

Yes it is serrated as well as the other label. Any ideas as to the possible age? Any crease ideas as well? I can't find one that really works

Have you tried wearing it open crown, almost like a bowler?

...or perhaps with a center dent but without side pinches.
