I have no experience with the indigo horsehide specifically but I can say that the two Y’2 jackets I have are of very high quality and construction. You won’t be disappointed if you can get the correct size.

I have the western shirt and a Type 1 trucker. Leather is really nice. Not overly heavy but a nice heft. Y2 makes pretty easy wearing patterns, but the western shirt runs two sizes small.

I like color of rial Japanese hand Indigo dye and leather looking nice after wearing longer time.
Have missed one L-2b collaboration with Black Bear, but price for used was to hi for my taste.
Interesting A-2 will be nice to see some simple design with buttons

Hi Tom,

Is this picture of your Type 1 showing a “fade effect” along the edges and arm creases, or are these reflections from lighting/sunlight?

Thank you,
David

There´s no fade. The hide is sealed by a pretty tough topcoat. I have seen faded specimen, but I guess then you´d have to wear it haredr than I do.

Indigo Y2 models are incredible, my buddy has one and it looks great. As another mentioned though, you definitely have to wear for a bit and wear hard to really get that amazing contrast patina that you've maybe seen online. As in, your daily jacket for YEARS to get to that point. You cannot casually wear these once a week and get the color breakthrough in 2-3 years on these. It's the sole reason I haven't bought one, I have way too many jacket to really get the aesthetic from it that I want.
