I think Sloanie already posted it Fanch .. agreed on the fit thing though :)

I wonder if BK or Johnsons or any of the others have produced any "female friendly" leathers. I suspect that those happy to accomodate a fair amount of customisation would be better suited to supply. I get the feeling that the heavyweight jackets we all know and love are not shared by the fairer sex.

I know in the early days Alexanders supplied a number of jackets to Asian customers ( there were photos of a brown halfbelt being modelled by an Asian lady) ... and there's also a Swiss lady on the "friends of Alexander" link

Friends of Alexanders

Methinks we don't have enough pictures of the fairer sex in fine fitting high end leather jackets ( and no this isn't a cue for some inappropriate pics) ... but it would be good to have some to show SWMBO some examples that she could compare. There must be some pics of lasies in Aero / Schott / Goodwear / Pegasus / Johnsons / BK jackets out there .....

Yep, I know that Craig posted the Aero Ladies Café Racer but don't think it quite got the traction that it should have. I think it would be a fantastic jacket for women in either goatskin or MWHH, maybe specifically the Italian veg tanned HH shown by Insurrection/Thurston.

I actually have a pair of the women's cafe racers sitting in the dining room for my other half to try on at the moment. A russet goat version and one in soft black steer.

useful post craig .. but not as useful as it would be with pictures ( of the jackets ... not nesessarily your other half trying them on ... although that wouldn't do any harm either and would give an idea of the difference in fit compared to say the board track racer ( which is essentially a cafe racer)

First Sloan has to throw a lasso around his better half to get it done. Easier said than done. :D

There is also Vanson Leathers. They make several jackets patterned for an actual woman. Some are more "fashion" than others. My wife has a few of the I'm-really-going-to-ride-in-these jackets.

Does she like the jacket? I think it is a flattering style, and the second one (darker/smaller) gets my vote. If you guys start riding, the sleeves on the second one might need to be lengthened a little bit.

Craig, the jacket on top appears a bit too big and prefer the fit of the one on the bottom. I think maybe the sleeves could be a bit longer though. The one wearing the jacket(s) is probably in the best position to make the call. What is her take on the situation?

You're absolutely right, Mr F. The first one is a size up from what she takes and the sleeves are on the short side, but she's mulling them over - both are really nice, and flat smells fantastic just now!

I think if another inch or two were added to the sleeves, the one on the bottom would be a perfect fit. Fortunately you are close enough to Aero that getting the perfect fit should not be a problem. Are the two jackets both MWHH?

Russet is goat, the black is steer. Both medium weight though. I don't think any woman would appreciate FQHH, other than hardened bikers. That's a very male thing...

I'd go with the first one TBH ... especially if layering is a requirement ( which in Scotland it is) .... but then I'm not overly fond of tight leather jackets with short body and arms ( as Sloanie well knows). The first one fits like a bike jacket should ... the cafe racer is a bike jacket after all ... the goat is unlikely to stretch much if at all and the sleeves will crease a little and they are a great length for on a bike.

Just my tuppenth worth .. both look like really nice jackets though ... SWMBO likes the fit of the brown one but prefers the black colour :) if that's of any value.

Of course PL would say that! Hard to judge the quality of that steer from your photo but at least the second one looks like it fits, aside from those short sleeves that is

Herself prefers jackets fitted (we are of an opinion on this area of fashion:D) and she likes the drape of the black steer - I think it's the same stuff used for the Type-3 jacket. It would be a fashion jacket, worn over thin tops, rather than as a bike type-thing. It's interesting to have what is ostensibly the same jacket in two different hides and to see how different they are in look. You could own both and not feel that you were just doubling up.
