Because selling jackets feeds the buying jackets monster that lives in my head.
Did you get it in HH? If you’re willing to put in the time and effort to break it in, it would be very rewarding in the end. Take a look at the transformation of this ‘cardboard’ J-106: https://www.thefedoralounge.com/thr...-hh-j-106-kotr-indian-mix-biker-jacket.97528/I am not an expert in leather jackets like many others in this forum, but my impression is that Aero is the most popular “repro” maker. I wouldn’t be surprised if they sell more jackets than the rest combined. Maybe it’s not true, but still I’d expect them to be the ones that sell more jackets per year. So even if the percentage of unhappy customers that try to sell their brand new, non-returnable jacket is not higher than in other brands, that still means a higher number of jackets for sale in absolute terms. Many others don’t do MTM so those will simply be returned. So yeah we’re prob looking at some statistical fallacy.
I only got one Aero, purchased earlier this year and only started wearing it a couple of weeks ago. It’s a Premier Highwayman because I like simple center zip jackets, it’s got IMO a really cool back and getting rid of the chest pocket (which seemingly 90% of center zip jackets has, for whatever historical reason I couldn’t care less about) was an option.
I’m happy and have no intention to sell, but it’s not without flaws: first, pattern is not great (won’t elaborate but nothing that’s not well known here). Zipper is even worse.
I also don’t understand the infatuation with CXLHH. Looks and drapes like a cardboard box, I can’t imagine how uncomfortable it is to wear. It wrinkles like crumpled paper.
Good luck trying to get your vanson Enfield teacore,,,come back to me in 50years and show me the results......
No, Badalassi steerhide. Plenty sturdy while not feeling like I’m wearing a Spongebob custome.Did you get it in HH? This post really inspired me and I ordered a KoTR fro aero in the thickest natural HH they had in stock.
I currently have 4,,fantastic jackets, but not a sign of teacore, great creasing though..especially the Enfield.Interesting comment re 50 years!! Why? Have you had one by any chance in the past? What did it feel like?
What made you come to that conclusion? Also I find it funny that most over here want the sturdiest ever jackets but in the end they’re not an Avenger and have a million other jackets so all of them look basically brand new even after a few years of owning them.
Wow you have 4!! Kindly post some pics when you get the chance pleaseI currently have 4,,fantastic jackets, but not a sign of teacore, great creasing though..especially the Enfield.
I'm glad that my jackets aren't the heaviest. My steerhide weighs around 2.6kg, Vicenza 2.4kg and I can probably live with 2kg. Any jacket > 3kg would be overkill for me.Also I find it funny that most over here want the sturdiest ever jackets but in the end they’re not an Avenger and have a million other jackets so all of them look basically brand new even after a few years of owning them.
Cracker of a jacket,,all mine are and have been competition weight, dyed all the way through,I hate having the topcoat wear off within the 1st couple of days wear,it's not patina in my eyes, it's fake aging lol@Peter Mackin this is the jacket that I bought and currently enroute to UK - https://www.thefedoralounge.com/thr...-teacore-horsehide-jacket-riri-zipper.116386/
You think Aeros CXL Steer is softer than CXL HH or about the same? The simple answer for me is that CXL is an absolutely miserable leather to wear on your back. It’s awful. It sucks. Despite its beauty (and it is truly beautiful). Somewhere out there Superfluous is pointing and laughing at me right now. I wish he were here to enjoy it.
But in all honesty I enjoyed my beastly heavy cxl jackets for about a month before I said f this. There’s no breaking in an oil soaked leather that becomes a walking boner below 35 degrees. Any aero that isn’t cxl is a better choice and won’t sell in a month. I left the spectrum desire for heavy, stiff, boner grade leather in the dust years ago. Thankfully.

Yeah I agree... Feliksas seems to be a tough act to follow.but that guy wears leather jacket in 30C outdoor + wear backpack on top, it's very tough act to follow.
