My DH has used the same digital camera since March 09 to now for my photographs, a Canon PowerShot SD790 IS being hand held. I can see how having spent now over 6-1/2 months having the same person take my picture on a regular basis has made a difference in how the pics have come out. Also in looking at the first pics of myself in vintage clothes and comparing them to the most recent shots, I can tell that I am much more comfortable wearing the vintage clothes.
Early March'09- with awful looking very non-vintage tightly permed hair and looking very nervous and uptight in front of the camera, wearing the very first vintage dress I bought:
Fast forward almost 6-1/2 months. Early September'09- loving the vintage look and much more at ease in front of the camera AND with the photographer:
In my true [vintage] element, dressed 1930s. Picture taken 9/13/09 at the ADSC Gatsby Summer Afternoon picnic of my husband and I happily dancing a foxtrot. Our 15yo daughter took this picture.
Another Gatsby pic, with our 13yo son who I have recently dubbed "The Deco Kid". Both of us happy as a two clams! This picture taken after he and I placed in the Charleston contest.
Gee, can you tell I'm really comfortable now with my vintage look, and very relaxed with being photographed these days? As seen in this 'Old Hollywood Glamour' pose as I call it. Picture taken mid last week, after the ADSC Gatsby Summer Afternoon had wrapped up:
I rarely post pictures on the "what are you wearing" thread because I have no camera at all so I rely on a friend having taken a picture of me and having put it on facebook, where I can steal it and crop it so that only I'm in the picture. The few headshots I've ever posted (like my avatar) are done with my webcam, however the quality is rubbish so I rarely do this.
