A Few Words from Behind the Bar....
Well, we didn't exactly cover ourselves in glory on this one, did we, folks? A significant number of posts have been pulled (over half the thread) in order to salvage the interesting content here. Let's all please be more considerate with regards to what we post in future: remember, modern politics are fobidden in these parts, and we try to avoid profanity. And, in general, behave like adults. Think twice, post once. And please remember that we are a global forum, with no one geographical territory assuming dominance or correctness.
Now let's try and give this another go.
There's one very simply answer to this question: we are moderators, and not editors. None of us are paid employees, all of us have other jobs in the real world, and we help to run this place in our spare time. Even if this were our "real" job, we would not (for both practical and legal reasons) be in a position to hunt down everysingle problem thread or posting and deal with it immediately. The sheer volume of content on here alone limits that.
If you come across a post or thread you find offensive or think may be in breach of house rules, the way to raise it to our attention is not to post on the thread (which can often only make thinks worse), but to use the 'report' facility to raise it to the attention of the moderation team. This will be more effective every time, as all of us will see the 'report' flag as soon as we sign in to the site, rather than waiting until we discover a post in a specific thread.

Mods why are you allowing this thread to continue as it is?
